Nothing has changed in the graphics department. I don't see why they wouldn't. Of course the easy way to find out would be to download and install one with JSGME.

Yes, they will work as usual. There are only graphic files included (tga), so you can even install them while at patrol or even SH4 running. Some textures will require a complete restart of SH4 others while others are updated when you reload a savegame.

Btw I have some much better skins for type VII and IX now, and I will upload them too.

Ok, since there still seems to be interest, here are up to date versions ... The skins are fubars which I have re-colored extensively. Credit should go to him and his wonderful work.

Type VIIB (and most VIIC versions)

First the skin that I mostly use for the type VIIB. What I wanted is an essentially "grey" skin that looks like German U-boats appear on pictures, and I spend a long time getting the grey "right". Like all VII's in OM it will look better in all overcast conditions and not so good in very bright sunlight, where boats appears almost blue no matter what texture is used. There is not much I could do about that, but I still like it more than any other paintjob I have seen ..

It will also work on the VIIC with turm 1 and 3, but on turm 2 another texture will be used that looks not so good.

Type IXC and IXC/40

Second a heavily weathered, grey green IXC and IXC40 that I have been enjoying a lot myself.

Another small update for the IXC / IXC40

Before I forget which files I have to put in, here is the very latest weathered, grey-green IXC and IXC40 I have made, very very similar to the last one but some small things are changed like the color of the tanks, the deck planking, and some other things.

These files can also be made to work with IXA/IXB but some files need to be renamed, if you want to do so check your Textures/TNormal/tex folder for the exact file names.

Simply put in JSGME and install this texture update.

Great. Let me know if you use it and whether it's working for you.

Some things which are not complete right now, but which I may bring into a proper state if there is interest.

brass propeller and metal shaft

type IX decks

type VIIC/41

Fubars type IX "plain" version (looks a bit too peace time to me but a beautiful paintjob).

cool. Like I wrote you will see a problem when you get to turm 2. It uses a very crude texture 7c_Turm2.tga, and I never found the time to work on it. This problem is purely visual of course.

I made a version for the VIIC/41 included in Operation Monsun. I tried to match colors better with pictures of U-995.

A few things about this boat and skin are not perfect (deck texture?), but perhaps someone still has a use for it.

It also will not look right on any other Type VII but the C41!
