I wonder whether having hammered the hand cranks of the turret hatch to seal it up is a good idea in case you end up in an emergency...
I admit I would not accept an invitation to dive in this thing.

She's either very brave or very crazy but good luck to her, rather her than me.

Back in the day I loved to SCUBA dive. Being underwater teeming with marine life is such a wonderful experience. But in a sub? Ah no thank you.

I think at the very least I'd have to keep that hammer on a tether.

ACTUALLY, WHEN SCUBA DIVING IN A WET SUIT, WITH FINS ON, LOOKING OUT THROUGH A DIVE MASK, CHECKING YOUR DEPTH GUAGE, COMPASS AND DIVE WATCH FOR ELAPSED TIME..... AND DEALING WITH COMPRESSED AIR ISSUES ETC: U R THE SUB BBY! THROW IN A FRESHLY BAGGED 30-ILB LING COD ON YOUR KEEPER LEAKING CHUMMY FLUIDS ON THE MONTEREY BAY WALL AT AROUND 100 FEET AND NOW U R IN COMBAT IN SOMTHING ELSE'S FOOD-CHAIN....AND IT'S A DECOMPRESSION ASCENT WITH A MILE-LONG SWIM TO THE BEACH: HEAD ON A SWIVEL AND MIND YOUR SIX; REMEMBERING U LOOK LIKE A TASTY ELEPHANT SEAL(PUP?) IN THAT WETSUIT .....

You are in need to play Subnautica in VR. It gives you the creeps from DDAS (Deep Dark Abyss Syndrome).

YOUR CONCERN IS DULY NOTED: HOWEVER THE 'WALL' JUST OFF MONASTERY BEACH AT MONTEREY IS 11,000 FEET DEEP https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monterey_Canyon ....THE BIGGEST, FEROCIOUS, EXCELLENT BBQ LING-COD ARE HIDDEN IN THE ROCKS AT ABOUT 100 FEET WHICH IS THE LIMIT FOR ME DIVE-WISE. DDAS IS A SECONDARY CONCERN BUT WITH ONE OF THESE FRESH ON YOUR KEEPER GWAS IS THE GREATER WORRY DURING A SLOW ASCENT FROM DEPTH TO PREVENT EMBOLISM AND A SURFACED SWIM TO THE SHORE IN THE KELP JUNGLE https://www.sdentertainer.com/news/young-great-white-sharks-have-taken-refuge-off-central-california-coast/THE OLD GREAT WHITES WON'T ATTACK ME OUT OF 'PROFESSIONAL COURTESY' BUT THOSE LEARNING YOUNGSTERS MIGHT MISTAKE ME FOR A TASTY SEAL PUP AND PUT A CHOMP ON ME WHILE FRENZIED BY A BLEEDING LING COD.....
