For some reason the v16 patch isn't working on my version.
Patching and adjusting works well, but the game won't start.

It's strange; the "best" weather file for me has been the stock one. Seem some people get endless storms with it, and some don't.

For me, a perfect mix with it. With Stiebler's, most of a patrol is sunny, no wind, flat calm seas.

Static or stuck weather also has to do with the frequency or period at which you make savegames. Something in the weather model is reset when you load a savegame. So when you save before a certain time, when the new computation for a change is done, you keep getting in the same rut. Now, I can't remember what those executable mods do. Obviously they changed something in the code to fix this. But this was the problem with the stock weather model in SH3. GWX tried to fix the parameters after long and extensive testing. There should be heaps of discussion on the weather model in the depths of Subsim.com forum.

Funny how people are now complaining the weather is too fair for them. Are you sure you want to be denied the ability to reload external torpedoes for weeks on end because of sea-state?

As ever, rain or shine, there is always something to complain about the weather.

Yeah, I know about the saved game part. My fair weather examples happen whether via saved game or not; most of the time I just pause the game instead of saving.

Re reloading externals, again it's strange; for me the longest stretch of storm I've had with the stock file is four days and I've been using it for multiple campaigns for awhile now.
Four days in the North Atlantic is nothing imo. Even longer would be acceptable to me.
But an entire patrol like many have experienced ? If that ever happened, I'd change files too.

I've never tried Hsie's weather fix though, only Stiebler's and stock. Think I'll give it a whirl too.
