from what ive seen in how the game works (and i still dont understand most of it lol) theres not much dual use you can get from the files so i would bet that gwx4 will basically gut the game and clone all the files to switch to the german side. if i were to attempt something like that i would remove all fleetboat content and start converting all the game control files to uboats only. that way you wont slow the game down with 4 gb of unused stuff. i could imagine instructions like "delete the entire data folder and install the gwx4 data folder" lol.

its like they threw a uboat or 2 into the game but there really isnt much that isnt all for fleet boats only.

I had another complaint privately, and I can't download it from SubSim either. We're trying to figure out why some can't get it, but over 200 have managed to successfully.

QUESTION!

helllo guys
Does someone know how compatible the DBSM (das boot sound mod) is with
SH3 with GWX 3 Gold?
it is a very good soundmod i just tested it with SH4 Uboat missions
i want to use it with SH3-GWX 3.0 Gold
the immersion and feeling of a simulator would be great with GWX 3.0 Gold combined

Sailor Steve,

many thanks for your great "Das Boot" Speech mod.
I´ve installed it, and for me, it brings a lot of atmosphere to the game.
Great work!

If one wish is granted, in the movie (and in GWX 3.0) the "Nummer Eins" runs, after torpedoing a Merchant, into the bow torpedo room and shouts "Jawoll Jungs, wir haben ihn!" (=Guys, we´ve got him!).
Can this somehow be added?

Yes it can. Download the SH3 version. I included a folder with alternate sound files, which contain both that scene and the depth-charge sequence with Hinrich the soundman whispering/shouting "Wasserbomben!"

I'm not sure whether those are in the regular files or the alternate files, so you'll have to listen to them and place them in manually. I stopped using them myself, just because I got tired of hearing them constantly. I put them into SH3 Commander so they do play once in awhile for me.

Steve,

Great work on the mod. I'm really enjoying it. One problem though, I'm getting a sound, thumping???, loop when I accelerate time. It requires me to reload the game to get rid of it. I wish I could identify the sound, but it usually happens when I'm not paying attention.

Any ideas?

You might want to try this mod instead. It's also excellent.
