Default Any Lite sims?

I really want to play a game that has the depth of a sim, ie DCS, but i really dont want to spend hours learning how to fly a chopper. I like the huge battles, the free roam and the scale of a sim, just not the complexity. Can anybody recommend anything?

Sims like DCS can be set up in options for simplified flight and sensor models.

Then there are action games that really are fun to play ion sneak mode: Crysis on my mind. Games like Skyrim and, as I read, Far Cry 3 allow free roaming as well. The latter I do not know. Consider these titles to be "infantry simlators". A nice title i nt nhjat catgory also is The Hunter, it is nice and has the best looking wilderness environment, but is a subscription model.

You cannot have a simulation that does not sacrifice some of simulation in order to be less complex as you desire.

ArmA and the likes could be set up by you in the editor so that you have a randomized presence of enemies in every village and patrolling the surrounding, then you freely roam around the islands. But it takes some time to design that scenario first. ArmA's weak spot is the bad AI and the terrible vehicle physics. It's an on foot-simulator exclusively, imo.

What he said pretty much.

If you're looking for Flight "Sim Lite" games, I recommend the Ace Combat series or Tom Clancy's HAWX.

You could also play IL-2 on easy.

I'd recommend Rise of Flight - absolutely nothing complex compared to later aircraft of the '30s onwards. And it's free for the base game, it's beautiful too.

For a more modern sim-lite I'd say Flaming CLiffs 3, it's a bit more advanced over RoF but still very easy compared to full-on DCS modules.

Anything from the Strike Fighters series! Even at the highest difficulty levels, it's pretty breezy and never goes into systems in any detail. And it has a vibrant mood community, lots of add-ons, and very good performance/low requirements.
