Looks a little bigger than guadalcanal to me, but it's definitely in the Solomons area! New Britain or something around there?

No, all within a few miles of Henderson. The top shot is just offshore a little west of Lunga Point. The 2d is one of the NW dispersal areas at Henderson.

3d is F4F just N of Mt Austen, last is a little west of there (sorta near the Galloping Horse)

Il-2 has no New Britain, sadly (Yet. )

Here's one a little farther NW. Like 3-4 hours as the Zero flies

Kieta area.

Keep in mind Tater Henderson Field is in the "Canal", as the Americans called it.

I'm well aware of the geography of the Solomons and "Cactus" as well.

I helped make the landscape in those images

The kunai grass hills near henderson are all in the right places, too.

Sorry, I was responding to CCIP, not you! Yes, Guadalcanal.

Here I am, flying a Harry Tate:

And here I am fighting a Jasta 7 Ace. In a Sopwith Pup that is.

And here is another victory for Sergeant James Plainview! 3 claims in one day, one of them appeared to be Josef Carl Peter "Kobes" Jakob, of Jasta 7. A good days work in other words!

Yet another victory for Sergeant James Plainview. Now to be considered an ace since he has 5 comfirmed kills!

But that flight almost became his last. After shooting down 2 enemy craft (of 3), a HUGE group of Albatros D.V dived out of the clouds, and before I knew it, they had hammered my left wing to pieces! I had to do an emergency landing at a field in the vicinity, and for a moment I was sure I'd crash. But I made it. Fit to fight another day!

Ha the Russians thought they where going to get me, but they did wound me and give my plane a leak in the fuel tank. But I did make it back to base before my engine died.

Where is your base?

With all the sepia, I thought you crash landed in the desert. I was about to say "Don't follow the camels"

Well it was near Stalingrad in the middle of winter. That was my last air battle there and having shot down some 106 russian planes in the process and have yet to be shot down by an enemy aircraft. Now I'm currently in the Kuban Bridgehead area supporting the evacuation that will happen.
