To the issue.

One day, I was playing SH5 with TWoS and I had just finished a patrol and was heading back out of Wilhelmshaven and I clicked on Dieter to talk to him to try and raise morale when this appeared:


I ignored it for a while before it started to get annoying so now I am looking for help.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had this issue once in past but it happend not anymore. In my situation solved a reload of the savegame this issue.

It just fixed itself after I came back from a real-life vacation and went to play SH5 and the problem was fixed. I had advanced into the second campaign chapter available, Happy Times, so maybe that fixed it.

Recently I've encountered this )
Looks like little Venice, but it's just a small port south of Gibraltar.
I'm pretty sure its not an issue, but I saw no such things in vanilla SH5 ))

1. Operating System, System spec?

windows 10

2. Version of the game ? (DVD, Uplay download, Steam, other ?)

Uplay when game loads says version 1.2.0

3. Confirm that your game is updated to official v1.2.0 version and that the vanilla game works without problems.

Game runs vanilla no problems

4. If you use any non-TWoS custom mods, remove them, reinstall your game/TWoS completely according to install instruction, start new campaign and make sure that the issue still persist!

Done

5. Confirm that the Generic Patcher is correctly activated and the snapshot is successfully restored (Install instructions, step 2).

This is where my issue lies even without adding further mods I get a notification saying;
D:/Silent Hunter\sh5.exe is different version than expected!

Patch:
Independent engine controls
Change 2
Reason: Bytes read does not equal bytes expected by patch
Bytes expected: C3CCCCCCCCC3CCCCCCCCC
3CCCCCCCC

And this was noticed after second attempt of reinstalling (from fresh) the first time I missed it and loaded the game loaded to main menu but when loading the campaign it CTD.
I have closed play during install and also closed down my AV to make sure they didn't cause issues and everything was also ran as admin.

Not too worried about this issue,
"Other issue is I couldn't use the KSDC commander as play would pop up asking for a key and even when loading in the key it says its in use"

Any help would be great thanks.

Hi CaptainNige. I can see that you didn't take a look into TWoS install instructions. Check them out and reinstall the game+mod. You need sh5.exe replacement for Uplay digital download version. https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=4861

I'm currently in the Mare Nostrum Campaign and it has just turned to May 1941. I've just intercepted a convoy and it shows American ships as hostile. My question is if this is intentional even though you aren't supposed to be sinking American ships so they'll maintain neutrality.

I have windows 10 and my SH5 version is the steam version. It is also updated to the 1.2.0 update.

According to DefSide.cfg file USA are considered enemy since 10.4.1941 (date of first American warship attack against an U-Boat in Atlantic).

Even before this, American ships sailing in Allied convoy in March-April 1941 can be considered an enemy (this is handled by the game through a fake "FreeAmerican" faction that uses American flag but is part of Allied forces)

This is my issue:


Yesterday, I launched SH5 to find the issue above in the main menu. I couldn't exit it or anything, I could only exit the game.

Is there a way to fix this?
