Default My thoughts on Wolfpack!

OK so I've played this game several times. I played with many different people. And my final thoughts are this…

I played a game last night with a group of guys that were absolutely awesome.

We all had our specific jobs, and we did our jobs to the extent where we knew what we needed before the captain even called anything out.

As long as you define your job and do that job each and every time in perfect synchronicity, the game becomes an immersion level I have never seen before in a U-boat game.

On the other hand if you have a very bad crew, the game becomes something that's almost unplayable. And I found some of those guys to be out there. So beware!

There are a few bugs, but this game has so much potential.

Good job to all of you who were a part of making this game!

My job with the guys last night... Chief, dive officer.

I maintained the dive controls, blowing ballast, and refilling compressed air. Almost 3 hours watching depth gauges that looked like boobs! Nothing else, and it was the most phenomenal time ever!!!

I knew my job was very important. I had to keep depth. I had to concentrate because if I did not, the captain could not see his target.

Even though captain gave orders, the other guys took my orders for speed or opening vents, so I can do my job... so the captain can do his.

It was a hierarchy of cooperation I never saw before. Truly unique.

Playing the SH series really does prep you for this game. The hard part is being captain because you have to be verbal and speak clearly what you intend!

And that's what makes this game stand out. It's more that a game, it's a simulation that provides the element of a crew experience. Playing single player sub games is great, they are fun and they have many fine points. But nothing comes close to Wolfpack, and that's why I went crazy over it when he devs first shared their demo nearly three years ago.

Agreed Neal.

Marualken was great! But it was a new concept that many people still do not understand. It was fun but weird. Controls were strange, in wrong places, weird lights at the radio hydrophone station.

Now that it has a true uboat look, and feel, the only direction for this game is up!

Just wrapping up my first time at this as skipper, I just bought the game tonight, man am I sold. Had a few guys join me while staulking a convoy at night, guy knew how to use the TDC, Ran dogs course toward lead escort And turned in for what would’ve been a perfect shot, but lo and behold the skipper, yours truly, didn’t know how to launch! Cue search lights, Hard dive, Crew did marvelously, a few close charges, but we shook them. Love the TDC, it truly is as I understand to have been, Absolutely outstanding work devs!

I had the good fortune to meet Topp and Koitschka in 2000, God how I wish I could’ve sat them down in front of this game, they would’ve been amazed, God rest their souls!

Default That space bar

I found out the hard way that space fires the torpedoes!

After stalking the convoy for quite a while, with an excellent crew, we were approaching the firing point. I was on TDC, first time, and the only crew member without voice was the man on deck.

To communicate with him we had to use chat.

To communicate with him I had to use the space between words.

A four torpedo shot went out prematurely, and hit nothing.

But for that, an excellent game. Sorry guys.

Glad to find I'm not the only one that loves the Dive Station or playing "only" as a Chief Engineer!
