Throttle problems in FSX
I have the F-104 Starfighter for FSX and I have the acceleration pack.
Apparently, the F-104 took acceleration too seriously because once I advance to full throttle or when the afterburner kicks in the throttle likes to go to 100% and stay there, I back off and it goes right back up. I've recalibrated my joystick but since it's only happening to the Starfighter I decided that it's got to be something fishy with the flight model. 1. I'm not too sure if Alphasim would be willing to offer support, I got this from a friend for free... 2. I heard there's a fix, but apparently I gotta contact Alphasim. and 3. I'm okay with the aircraft.cfg file, so if someone knows what's wrong, rest assured I'm not a complete moron and I'll know what you're saying EDIT: It's happening for my XB-70 too, another plane my friend gave me, APLHASIM too.

Solution to throttle problem
1) If you edit the Panel.cfg file, and in the [vcockpit01] section comment out the following line, it can resolve the throttle problem.
//gauge42=ALPHA_F104!autotoggle_AB_98, 6,2,10,10 2) An alternative, and possibly better, solution is to include the following line in your aircraft.cfg file, in the [TurbineEngineData] section. [TurbineEngineData] afterburner_throttle_threshold = 0.00 Last edited by crosherg; 07-20-10 at 01:57 PM. Reason: additional info |
