Sending Radar distance/bearing info to TDC

I'm running v1.5 with TMO 2, RSRD, and the improved optics and recognition manual fixes. I recently installed the 3-D radar mod, largely under the belief that this mod finally allowed radar distance and bearing data to be entered into the TDC in the same manner as sonar data. The actual TDC had this capability and its lack in v1.4 was a sore point for me.

If this mod does allow data to be entered directly into the TDC, I can't figure out how. There is no obvious button or toggle for that purpose and just moving the mouse cursor around to see what activates hasn't proved successful either.

So, is the 3-D radar mod just eye-candy or is it actually functional and, if so, how do I make it function?

It functions and works great, along with the TDC. It doe's take some learning. Being a game, steps had to be taken to make it work different than how they worked in reality, but the end result is the same.

The training tells you everything you need to do, but short answer:
You use the data entry tools on the periscope screen to enter the data.

It's a bit annoying, but it works.

I can't find a 3-D TDC anywhere. The tutorial talks about it but not how to access it.

I did install the "3D TDC and Radar Range Unit v1.02" mod, which I assume is the correct one.

Your TDC is in the con tower. I started a new career, so no radar, but usually if you go to the con tower it places you in front of it. Anyway, just use the cam to take you to it, sort of back left.

You do the the obvious changes to your radar station?

What sub class are you using? The mod is currently only for Gato and Balao classes. Earlier ones will not have the new radar and TDC.

SS-228, Drum, Gato Class. I've got the radar scope(s).

I found it. I'm not sure I would have ever thought to look for and then click on the ladder. I thought it was just decorative.
