The regional authorities over here also issued very sensible advice. They said "people should stay alert and attentive. "

Aaaah-ha.

Thank you for your helpfulness. Very much appreciated to get such useful information.

It helps so much.

Really.
Looking at the overall picture and with benefit of hindsight I reckon many countries who were previously containing it pretty effectively took there eyes off the ball and relaxed measures far too early.

Governments are obviously trying to combat the virus but also save their countries economies at the same time.

I'm not sure that is possible.

A big "mishap" took place in Bavaria. Due to lacking digitalization, and volunteer helpers at testing checkpoiunts needing to transfer data by hand in writing, over ten thousand returning travellers got tested, but had to wait up to 11 days for their result, amongst them 1400 infected who unknowingly walked around infected - and infecting others. The results were known, but did not get transferred to the receivers.

First reflex was to blame the helpers, but it is not their fault, they stand in the sun in their plastic gear, bearing temperatures at up to 45°C in their suits on sunny days. Its because germany in internet and digital infrastructure is a development country, compared to some others.

And I am not talking of schools, where normally I do not welcome digitalization of teaching (in non-Corona times).

The whole issue is a first setback for chancellor hopeful Markus Söder (CSU, Bavarian minister president), whose approval rating had gone throught he ceiling in recent weeks. He had pushed for more testing, which was correct, but pushing beyond what Bavaria with the existing infrastructure could service - that was not correct.

More and more schools and indergardens get locked down after havign oepned just one week. Not yet a flood, but the trend is worrying, pointing upward.

It is their plan though.

However due to access to these mask all over Denmark, such a demand can come much later.

You can't enforce people to wear approved mask, if they can't get hold of them and furthermore-those who produce them will take an overprice for them.

Who failed in making them available, taking care that they get produced? It has been 5 months! Cloth masks. Surgical masks. FFP2 masks, over here it all could be had now. And not at moonshine prices.

We've had the mandatory mask requirement on public transportation for over a few months now here in Los Angeles; there is also a requirement that all passengers on buses board and exit through the back doors only so as to keep the drivers as distant from the public as possible; this include cordoning off the forward section of the buses 6-12 feet (depending on the model of the bus) behind the driver's seat; in effect, since the fare collection is at the front of the bus, the system is now a fare-free system...

It would appear your country is way behind just about every other country (especially in Europe) where face coverings are concerned.

Thousands of holidaymakers have rushed back to the UK from France in a bid to avoid quarantine measures imposed from 04:00 BST. Those arriving after this cut-off must undergo a 14-day isolation period on their return.

The same rules apply to the Netherlands, Monaco, Malta, Turks and Caicos, and Aruba.

France reported 2,846 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours on Friday - the highest number since lockdown restrictions were eased.

France says it will take "reciprocal measures" and the Netherlands has warned against all but essential travel to the UK

Russia launches production of a vaccine amid concerns speed could compromise safety.

More than 764,000 people have died around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

Global cases top 21m, with 5.3m in the US, 3.2m in Brazil and 2.5m in India.

The Australian state of Victoria has reported a considerable drop in new cases, but officials have warned against complacency as the virus continues to spread in areas outside Melbourne.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators have filled the streets of South Korea's capital to voice their concerns on a wide range of issues, despite health officials' pleas to limit crowds amid a jump in coronavirus cases. A total of 166 new infections were announced on Saturday - South Korea's highest single-day total in five months.

Indian PM Narendra Modi has said the country is ready to mass produce vaccines for the virus when scientists give the go-ahead.

Crime in South Africa dropped by up to 40% during the first three months of its lockdown, official figures show.

New Zealand has reported seven new cases of the virus in Auckland after a lockdown was extended for almost two weeks in the city.

The Australian state of Victoria has recorded 303 new cases and four deaths - state authorities have urged continued vigilance despite signs the outbreak is past its peak.

While it seems to some the high total numbers of new infections we have only are due to more testings being done, this only is the complete picture as long as you do not compare infection rates, means: the share of those infected in a sample of the population, thsi rate is in percentage and is independent from sample size. And that number it seems now is higher in Germany than it was in April and May. Also, the average age of infected people has massively dropped, it is many, many more middle-agers and young people now than before.

In hospitals, corona bed reservations had been reversed in recent months, and capacities given up. They now started to rebuild them again in more and more places.

That the disease is unsuspicious and asymptomatic in so many cases, is a curse. This helps to undermine discipline and willingess to follow hygienics rules. It would be of better help if patients escape from quarantine and out of their minds would run through the streets yelling in pain before dropping dead in place with bloody blains on their skin. Then everybody would follow hygienics rules voluntarily, and strictly. But an invisible pandemic with its victims well-hidden from public is difficult to fight against. Maybe school classes and factory shifts should do day tours through intensive care units. Mandatorily - but at their own risk, of course.

Then-When WHO recommended we should we mask in public. The Danish health authorities and the government said to the Danish people.

Our test is showing otherwise. These mask does not protect.....

Now they have made a 180 digress turn and are now giving the Danes order to wear them in public transportation around the clock and in other places.

^ I'm not sure if face coverings give any meaningful protection or not (air always choosing the path of least resistance) but out of choice I'm happy wearing mine when out shopping etc.

So-called household-masks (cloth masks, cotton masks) do noit filter aerosols or virus, they are not fine enoughk, but they brake the airstream when you breathe out. The aerosl moves with slowe rintial starting speed and ake slighlt ylonger to trvael tjorzug the air untio it is everywsher ein the room. Its like sneezing with and without hand held before your mouth (or using your armpit nowadays)

For filtering aerosol particles and virus, you need FFP masks, without valves.

Surgeonm masks probbaly filter better tna cotton masks, but theiur problem is that they fit only loose and have open rims wehre much air gets inhaled and exhaled unfiltered, if they are noit fittign very tight.

If you can get them, use FFP2 and without valves. They do not provide total secfurity, but they do theirt part to move probabilitie sin your favour. Like hand washing does. Like social diistancing does. None of that gives you security, but it changes probabilites in your favour. Think of the single effects as being cumulative. Best protection is to not deal with people at all. Stay away, keep out, do not enter, if you can. And its not 2m social distance. Its several meters more.

^Throughout the day they have showed video clip on how to use these mask and which type of mask is best.

Here they say Type II/IIR protect others against you and protect you from your surroundings.

Type I protect only others from you and not you from others.

This is what we have been told all day.
