Theatres: Lebanon, Taiwan, Korea.

Flyables: Comanche, and I bet the other is the Hokum.

In game texts: mimic the disgn of the first EECH

Screenshots: Landscape reminds me very much of updated/modded EECH graphics. Even the very dark colour palette and the problematic contrast at sunset and dawn is present.

I have some doubt that this is a new developed sim, form scratch. I just hope it is not just having collected public mods and having glued them into one piece without asking the authors. And then there is the confusing history concerning release dates, chnage of publisher in last minute (as it seemed), and lacking information since long.

Somehow it all feels very suspicious for me. I hope I'm wrong and I will keep an eye on it. But inside my head, some red lights are blinking.

However, if it all is legal beyond doubt, and if the flightmodel has been very substantially improved, and if the release is not shivering with bugs or will be patched within a reasonable timeframe, I would go for it. I would love to have a solid chopper sim again.

Waiting and checking community feedback once it is out seem to be the option of choice.

I read somewhere that it is indeed the original game + mods+ new code built on top. It's also being released by that awful GMX /G2 Game company who:

1. Were sued by Tesseraction (who won the case) for non payment of royalties & territory issues on the UK release of Enigma Rising Tide.

2 Released Battle of Britain 2 with no printed manual in the UK and were eventually shamed into printing one by the users.

3 Completely screwed up the release of Pacific Storm in the UK (it has still not been released here, although every other country on the planet seems to have it).

4. Released the infamous Seawolves SH3 addon in the UK.

I don't have much faith left in them I'm afraid, thank god Buka has selected Excalibur Publishing to release Pacific Storm Allies!

We have a new release date, it seems: May 25th. Also a PR giveaway event.

I share Sonarman's doubts. Sure I will check carefully before even considering it to be put on my list.

If it really is just the old sim with new mods and graphics, chances are that the terrible flight model still is present - which would turn it into a nonstarter for me immediately.

Can it be? I still have my EECH and EEAH CD's. Is this just a mod?

Hmm - not convinced it is any different. It looks like a modded EECH.

Six new screenshots:
http://www.simhq.com/_air10/air_301a.html

What struck me is that it still is all so terribly dark, like in the default game. I do not even dare to think about nightvision goggles, which also were very, very dark in the default game.

Release date of 25th May officially confirmed. Press announcement:

Well, I certainly wait beyond that date, listening to feedback especially on wether the flight model has been substantially improved or not, and legality of the included mods. Becasue that's what it looks to be: the default game with several mods already patched to it. since they seem to have used the original code, I think there is a better chance than usual that this release maybe will not be plagued by swarms of bugs and issues, though.
