QUESTION ON VOSPER BOATS.

Hey all..is it somehow possible to mod in the Vosper MTB as spoken about in this topic?

It seems Sh5 is relying very much on the former versions (when I look at the files in the texture map) so it should theoretically be possible to replace/substitute the AmericanPT boats used by the British around Gibraltar and the UK coast line for accurate ones.

Sure it's possible.

There are two ways you can do it: either as .dat format unit (much easier if you are basing new ship on existing SH4 or SH3 unit, but it will lack some SH5 effects) or .gr2 format unit (native SH5 format - requires more work, but final effect looks better in SH5). In any case, you will first need a Vosper model - either by making one yourself or by obtaining permission to use one from modder who created it for older SH game.

There is no guide/tutorial for .gr2 format import, but if you decide to choose this route I'll be happy to provide all needed information.

Thank you for the info I will look into it. Not that muchnof a modder apart from editing some *.dds files and changing sounds like flak gun sound, shell in the air sound, DD siren sound (to whoop whoop whoop original one). And so on.
