My navigator is an idiot.
Hey all. Cruising near halifax, nav says, max distance at current speed is (14:14) 7322 km. Then he says (14:18) 5814km and then one minute later (14:19) 5593 km. All on 8kts, fuel left 45/100. Who the hell taught him math! Or did the fuel tanks spring a leak? Even with one engine off he does this.
So he forces me to limp back to a port in France since I cannot reach Las Palmas like this or any closer port to refuel at. (Submerged on electric, surface, recharge, dive) Anyone else also has an idiot navigator who cannot calculate max range at current speed??? Another example.of his incompetence:

There is a % of error factored in when AI reporting. My lookout reports 10k meters, only to change it to 6000 just one minute later. They would only give you ballpark estimates.

Weather and speed affect this. I did a video for SH3 on it. It's in most of the series.

Thanks!! I realized I only need to ask him once per hour or two hours. That seems to work.

Yes, mainly wind and sea currents.
