I use my Baileys in Baby Guinness shots but I prefer Tia Maria for the body of the drink.

Always 3pm on Christmas Day but Sunday is scheduled because of the crisis the country is facing.

I think after seeing and hearing the news the last 24 hours and reading some of your comments, that the world have entered the mask-war.

It was in the news yesterday and I read about it in some of our Danish news paper.

Here is an English version of the story

Quote:
About 200,000 N95 masks were diverted to the US as they were being transferred between planes in Thailand, according to the Berlin authorities who said they had ordered the masks for the police force.

Pah, we have that since Star Wars 1977. Think of him what you want, but Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers are serious when it comes to filter masks.

I think it is somewhat unwise to rely on third parties like PRC on critical equipment like PPE.

Taiwan's coronavirus response is among the best globally

Quote:
On January 25, as the world was still waking up to the potential danger of the novel coronavirus spreading rapidly out of central China, two governments recorded four new infections within their territory.

Australia and Taiwan have similar sized populations of about 24 million people, both are islands, allowing strict controls over who crosses their borders, and both have strong trade and transport links with mainland China. Ten weeks on from that date, however, Australia has almost 5,000 confirmed cases, while Taiwan has less than 400.
The question is not what Australia did wrong -- 20 countries have more cases than Australia, and seven have more than 10 times as many -- but how Taiwan has kept the virus under control when other parts of the world have not.

Anyone else noting that Trump is reading his speeches now and sounding coherent?

Yes except for the part about sounding coherent.

Hopeful news from Stanford University in California on a testing method that could assist in getting businesses open and people back to work:

Newsom says Stanford test for coronavirus immunity in California ‘hours’ from approval --

https://www.fresnobee.com/news/calif...241774351.html

The test is something Gov. Newsom has been pushing since early on in the pandemic; I hope the Trump administration doesn't try to hinder the approval since California, in general, and Newsom, in particular, are viewed by Trump as enemies since they won't kowtow to the Great Ego...

I'll say it again: I'm very impressed by Newsom's handling of the crisis and his leadership of the state's efforts and his coordination with local governments in the state. The quote from the above article is telling:

Quote:

A new immunity test from Stanford University and an increased focus on screening for coronavirus will help the state dramatically ramp up testing over the next few weeks, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Saturday, with an ultimate goal of getting Californians back to work.

“The testing space has been challenging for us, and I own that,” Newsom said during a news conference. “I have a responsibility as your governor to do more and to better.”

Two refreshing phrases in that quote: "...I own that" and, “I have a responsibility as your governor to do more and to better.”; kinda wish some other government leaders approached their responsibilities and duties during this crisis with the same mindset as Newsom...

Don't hold your breath. I noticed on Friday Santa Rosa Memorial was setting up a drive through testing station and also requiring masks for staff in all public spaces.
