I don't like motor boats...

Way too small to waste a torpedo on - too fast and high floating anyway - and you certainly don't want to start a fight with one either.
Always forces us to dive and hide...

You can give her a heavier flak, Im sure one of the DDs offer some kind of 2cm quad configuration you can use.
Also dont forget the MAS had a solitary depth charge Rack ont he stern for ASW duties, though im gessing she will need DD AI to use them.

Yes, those shots were when I got it into the game (I was so happy ). It now has a DC rack astern. I wonder if they were ever equipped with some kind of hydrophones (don't think they ever got an active sonar). Other motorboats in the game don't have any ASW detection systems.

I've set a layer for them (and German S-boote) to randomly appear in certain areas at night. I guess it could be a nasty surprise to be in the surface at night to recharge batteries and meet a group of these bitches at short range running at you at 40 knots.

Hey Japlance - (or anyone) can MTBs and DD's launch torpedos in SH4? Im pretty sure they couldnt in stock, but im not sure if anyone modded it. I know aircraft can drop them so Im not sure..

I don't think so. I used the Vosper by Sergbuto as a guide to import the MAS, and in the equipment files he used a VirtualTorpedo in a M01 node. I added one in the MAS, but I have no idea whether it works or not.

But I can confirm that set as patrol craft, after adding a hydrophone, they search for you and drop depthcharges.

A brief report to bump the thread a bit .

I think I'm finished with JU_88's MAS. I gave some textures to the torpedoes using a 3D program I'm slowly learning to use. Here's the result:



A couple of days ago I decided to make a test, to see what was I capable of with the 3D editor. I took a Kent Class Cruiser in WDAD and tried to convert it into a Spanish Canarias Class cruiser. Removed the bridge, added a new funnel, changed a few things, and then had a long fight with S3D and SH4 to make it work. It's been a two-day fight, but I'm proud of the results:



It won't be in the mod because I have no idea about who the author of the original Kent is (it is not stock), but it opens the way for me to try to rework some other ships.

Also in the last hours I found a nice Italian WW1 vintage destroyer in the FOTRS mod, and received permission to use it, with one inconvenient: they are not the real creators of the ship. They reworked it but can't remember who is the author. The ship folder is called NDASirtori, if anybody knows something about that matter, I'd like to ask before adding it to the download.



I checked a few webs, and there were about 20 of these old WW1 destroyers doing escort and ASW duties in the Mediterranean. I'd really like to have them in the campaign.

Some really nice ships on sale here, will there be a upgrade pack for Med campaign? Can't wait for the new boat T Class that Keltos has in dry dock.

When everything is ready, there will be a new download that will substitute the previous one. You will have to delete the old folder and install the new one.

Unfortunately, due to the number of changes made, that will probably render previous saved games useless. Take it into account if you have a long career.

I fought IJN in Pacific and played OM in Atlantic. Surely in the India Ocean, I completed U-boat Mission.

hi,guys! its much time left since i working on my japanese Type C submarine. comrade keltos remembers me, i hope. unfortunately, my windows breakedown destroyed my work after it i passed my exams and had no time to continue. now i have more free time before my real work will start. i have a plan to create Odin/Parthian/Rainbow class submarines. they had similar characteristics, and i think that i can create odin-class and add some improvments to gain Parthian&Rainbow classes. i would like to ask you, will you add it to your mod after i will finish my work?

Most British submarines in the first six months of the war in the Mediterranean were of these classes. They suffered heavy losses, and had to be replaced by the better known U and S boats, but still the survivors of the early onslaught were important in keeping Malta supplied throughout the dark days of 1941-42.

They would be a nice addition to the campaign, and of course I would add them, but only if they are in the form of a SH4 playable sub. Unfortunately, creating subs out of 3D models is out of my reach.

of course, all submarines will be playable. i'm mantain good relations with SOM group, which created Battle for the Baltic mod, Dagon had learned me how to make 3d models and make them playable. i have only questions about campaign of your mod: can we add campaign layers from OM, for example? readme file says that this is not historical campaign, i would like to add it to the Med campaign, of course, we need permission to do it.
