SH4 Blocky smoke

OK So recently, I downloaded the Dark Waters mod and was excited to play it. Only for this to happen:

I've been looking over forums and it seems like I am the first person to have this problem using this mod. I looked through my tex files and I seem to be missing the smoke texture. All of the stock explosions and smoke seem to work, just the smoke and explosions added by DW aren't working.
I've tried to update my drivers but that hasn't changed a thing. The stock bow wakes work too, but the DW added wakes don't.
It seems to me that either I am missing files or my download is corrupted.

I'm using the Uplay version too. I will see if using the steam version makes a difference.
