Default Bunch of questions

I tried to look for some info about this way to play Wolfpack, but it is still incomplete for me.

I undertand you have it modded, but how do you install these mods? And, could you have multiple installations? Vanilla to play with other friends and keep it up to date.

AFAIK, there isn't any mission editor. Are this just vanilla random games which we should report their results?

While I'm quite experienced with uboats, I have some trouble with my spoken english, could I play alone as skipper + bots?

Hi Juan Thankyou for your enquiry of our Wolfpack Mod and how we play our Campaign.

Wolfpack BdU Mod List

The Mod sorry wont work with Bots also you need to be a Wolfpack BdU Member to get the Mod.
Once you have Joined Us you will have access to the Mod.

Fire Up Steam on Wolfpack go into Properties and revert back to 18b.

Mod installation go into C:\Program Files x86 then open steam Folder then open Steam Apps
Click on Common Folder then open Wolfpack Folder then open Wolfpack Data Folder then open up Managed
then make a copy of Assembly-CSharp.dll put it in a folder on your desktop then just put prefix Old after CSharp like in the screenie below.
Then copy n paste the new one in.
When you want to play with Bots update to 19b and take out 1,961kb CSharp
or have two versions of the Common Folder one for 18b Wolfpack BdU Campaign and the other one for 19b for the Bots
version of Wolfpack

When you fire up your Modded Wolfpack the front page should look like this

Wolfpack Bdu Campaign

We all Start in Type II's with only three bow Torpedo Tubes and only six Torpedos

Matt (Stosstrup) Plays the the Part BdU he sends the Kapitan of your Uboat Patrol Orders eg Patrol Grid AN47
we use Google Maps as our Plot Map to our Patrol Area Grid and the Kapitan or Navigator plots the Uboats Progress
on the Map a TypeII or Type VIIC would cruise at 6-7knts on the surface 6knts =11.11kms per hour so in 24hrs your
Uboats traveled 266kms you plot that on the map like screenie below.

Hi JuanLiquid,

Please post your Discord name in the join here forum, and we will get you on discord on the server and then we can walk you through some of the details. But Blackswan is correct, we are running a campaign similar to SH3 whereby members are part of a crew that goes out on patrols and earns tonnage, awards, etc. The mod adds more realism aspects to the game as well.

Matt then uses Aces of the Deep a old dos based Uboat Computer Game
and he fires it up and follows your exact route within Aces of the Deep he may find nothing so then you do another days Plot on your Map and you put another radio mast icon so tell Bdu thats where your upto.
Matt then continues to follow your Plot in Aces of the Deep Bingo he runs into
four Merchant ships one small escort.
Matt then sends your Uboat Engagement Mission Orders for Wolfpack

Mission Settings

Year - 1939

Month - October

Day - 28

Time - 19:45

Overcast/Clear - Overcast

Engagement Orders Attack one Ship between 2000-6000 tons

With our Mod eg you fire two eels at a 5800 ton Tanker you have one dud and a hit the ship will sink within the game mechanic but we use a spreadsheet for Ship Damage and Uboat Damage the ship may not sink or may sink after 16-18 hours or longer in realtime long after the game as finished but the spreadsheet is still running the macros and Java Scripts ect.
when the ship as sunk on the spreadsheet then and only then does your Uboat get the Tonnage and kill Credit.

Spreadsheet Uboat Damage

When you get Attacked by the troublesome Escorts and they drop their Barrels of Boom n Doom on your Uboat if you hear explosions but it doesnt rock the boat you press nothing on the Spreadsheet if it did rock the boat you would press that one rocked the Boat then a pop up would appear eg light flooding.
Then the escort comes around again ping you then the pinging stops your Hydraphone Operator says splashes you dive deeper 60-70-90-100 Meters then Boom Boom Boom a Bulb goes out then another so each time a Bulb goes out you have to click that button on the Spredsheet Damage Popup Port Engine Damaged so you have to turn off Port Engine also Hydrophones
Damaged so you can no longer use then also sometimes your Crew get injured too eg Dive Officer wounded so the Diver Officer takes no part operating the Dive Station he sits out the rest of the game as a passenger also he may be in sick bay when you go out on your next patrol.

link to how our Spreadsheet works

@blackswan40 thanks for the in-deep explanation.

I liked the idea of emulate of starting in a type IIA, limiting torpedoes, crush depth, deck gun and max speed. I think type IIA/D only have 5 bow torpedos, 3+2. It hasn't rear one, again, *I think*

I will see if I can find few spanish crew member, or I could join as any role to an existing crew, but they should talk to me like if I would be a 2 years old child, sloooooowly

@derstosstrupp my Discord id is 'LiquidProj3ct', it's not a secret, but I want to be sure I can be useful for your BdU idea before join, I don't want to ruin anyone experience with my bad english!

Hello! I hope it's not a problem I'm posting here, figured "A bunch of questions" might be a good fit for mine If not, I can post a new thread...

Anyway, I would like to ask about the timing/schedule of missions - how does scheduling work in practice, do crews need to work more or less simultaneously or not, number of sorties per period (week?) etc.

Are there crews that operate in the evening hours of GMT+1 or thereabouts, or weekends essentially any time.

I'd love to join, but I'm not sure how many hours are needed in order to be a reliable crew member.

Hi Ceh,

Each boat can have a total of 6 members to ease scheduling concerns. And each crewmember can be on two boats.

As for scheduling, your skipper will be responsible for arranging crew for an engagement. Typically the pace is such that your crew will have 1-2 Wolfpack engagements per week assuming your boat is currently on patrol.

Tell you what, let’s get you aboard. What is your Discord name?
