Default Can someone help me with SH5?

I've played SH3 on and off for a few years, was never particularly good at it. I want to get back into the franchise with better graphics, but Sh5 is so buggy it's impossible. I would orefer to play the base game with no extras and get better at it before moving into something more advanced, is there anything out there that fixes the game but doesn't add loads of content that I would have to learn? I'm using 5ye steam version of SH5.

At first und have to update to version 1.2. But also with last patch you will not be happy with stock game.
If you will not to use many addons for a really good experience you need only one and this one is TWoS: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...20#post2165720

Oh. That's more difficult.

XenonSurf's modlist seems like a good choice then.

Thank you kapuhy, yes it soon will be ready to download, I will release ready-to-install mep files that you load with JSGME over a patched game, I will also include patch files for U-Play and Steam. You will have the choice to:

- Play stock game, but with most gameplay bugs resolved
- Play stock game + Open Horizons II and the TDW interface
- Play my XenonSurf Modlist with different difficulty levels.
- And finally: You can unload all mods from JSGME and add your own mod list (and even TWoS), that's new!

I still must test my main modlist and the last one above to see if it's really stable and also add some instruction files, so please be patient. Stay tuned and visit the mod forum of SH5 where I will make a new '[REL]....' thread, maybe my modlist will have a new name. I must also register to GameFront or similar first to upload my package.

I had the same trepidation with TWOs but I have to say you can pretty much get it to the level you want and up the ante as you go along and get the hang of it. I use the mod for enemy/friendly/neutral map contacts for example. It all feels like familiar territory without the lameness of the vanilla game and lots and lots of interesting goodies. There’s a whole world in there. Take some time with the file viewer. It’s fiddly at first but after awhile you can cherry pick what you like.
