wolf_howl15 Today I saw the first work up of single player: Lone Wolf mode

The devs have begun work on the all-important single player upgrade.

The concept is to retain all the atmosphere and immersion that Wolfpack provides but allow the game to be easily manageable by one player if he chooses to go Lone Wolf. You will be able to control your boat with bots manning the various stations, they will step aside for you if you desire hands-on control of a piece of gear. Or you can opt to stay at any one station and toggle on a control overlay and make changes directly from there.

Once this upgrade is tested and complete, it will be released to all owners of the game. God help England.

Sounds great, looking forward to this feature.

I love this game, but so far only played it single player (difficult to get uninterrupted gaming sessions for me currently). Hard to go back to Silent Hunter once you saw Wolfpack. :-) While I find solo play doable at the moment, it gets a bit annoying to run down from the bridge to read bearings, change speed etc. So some NPC assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As a feature request, a pause function for solo players would be nice.

So very excited for this update! Playing with friends is wonderful, however it will definitely be nice to enjoy Wolfpack when time or other players are limited.

Re Wolfpack and how to fund the development this was discussed on the discord 4th Flotilla forum after our tournement patrols two Sundays ago some of the members didnt like the idea of bots it will turn Wolfpack into a single player Game/Simulation.

I then asked if I could throw my 2 peneth into the mix
I started by saying its one way of increasing sales of Wolfpack getting more Gamers involved then that helps with development of Wolfpack.
also for me and the other Wolfpack Multiplayer Junkies out there in the Wolfpack Virtual Ocean so to speak having bots its a nice practice tool when some of your crew aint available helps to keep you sharp.
Also gets new players upto speed with mastering all the control stations in single player then they will have a go
at playing with other Wolfpack Players crew members that they rub shoulders with on Subsim and discord.

Option 2

any future updates DLC'S you must pay for bots £7:50 $10
Convoy Map Zones 1942-45 £15:00 $22:50
Hedgehogs Squids and Aircraft £15:00 $22:00
Human Controlled Escorts £30:00 $35:00

they didnt like that idea they were quick to point out they had already bought the Game.

my reply Einar and Oscar Onkel Neal thats the Wolfpack Devs they are not
Creative Assembly Blizzard or Ubisoft they have got to find a way to fund Wolfpack development.

Guys, you definitely need extra funding. But at this stage it is difficult to find the real reason for the additional funding from the players. If there was one big, common server with an open world and the ability to control surface ships, then there and at this stage one could offer players something for money, camouflage on ships, or interior decorations, or emblems, but in this form it is even difficult Imagine that you can start bringing additional funds (

There will not be any additional charges for single player. It comes with the game at the current price.

Good news indeed! I will now add it to my list of sims to watch for.
The reason I haven't bought it is the multiplayer focus. I prefer single player games and avoid multiplayer.

I play games to get away from other humans, not interact with them even more...

I think this will make MP much better as well.

Obedient and competent sailors to man the helm and dive planes are hard to find.

Would be nice if one can choose to turn the bots on or off. I really like SP without the bots. Kind of challenging....

Default Yea ! Single player

I too find it hard to schedule exact play hours to join groups. I play when I can, usually singleplayer games.

Kickstarter funding might work if the goal was reasonable with stretch goals and bonus extras that link directly to stated dev steps/intentions.

That is, improvements in stages-identified by funding levels that are close enough to be believeable--easily reached.

There are many thousands of sub gamers out there, many still on the fence about this game. KS would/could reach out to them with tempting improvements beyond the current excellent game experience.

Don't forget frequent dev updates to keep interest alive.

Thanks for the feedback, Raymond, good info, and that really helps.

At this stage we can manage to incorporate single player interface without a Kickstarter. It will take a little time and testing but when it comes out, I anticipate a surge in sales and interest. And of course, people who already own Wolfpack will get the expansion free!
