Default SH5 + OHII: Where are the whales?

Greetings,

I'm quite new here, so excuse the question, should it turn out to be an unnecessary one. After trying many different supposedly stabil mod combinations and after many CTDs I've finally found a stabil "mod soup" that pleases me and runs without crashing!

I'm using the latest version of Open Horizon II as a base mod (thank you to all the modders who invested so much time and work!). Although it's a somewhat meaningless detail and for the gameplay experience not so important, I was very happy to hear that Open Horizons II has introduced some sea life into the game. After playing a campaign now for a long time (I am now in the operation Monsun Gruppe) I still haven't found a single whale or dolphin.

Maybe I've installed something in the wrong order or am missing something?
My mod-combination is as follows:

1. TDW Patches (enabled with the Generic Patcher...thanks TDW!)
2. OPEN HORIZONS II v. 2.4
3. FIXED ID FILES_1
4. DEUTSCHMOD_1.0.10
5. Parts Magui V. 3.01 by Dr. Jones
6. Parts Magui Patch 3.02
7. Old Style Explosions V. 1.1
8. Conus' Graphic Mod 1.1
9. Accurate German Flags
10. Das Boot Sound
11. Radio_Messages_1_2_0_German Voices
12. Keyboard Deutsch V0.6
13. Großdeutscher Rundfunk
14. A Fistful of Emblems V 1.51
15. Damage Assessment
16. BRF 1.3 Full

I thank anyone who takes the time to answer my question and wish all Kaleuns: "gute Jagd!".

Hi Huginmunin

I am happy you have made it so far in the campaign

Below you can see yellow markers with black waypoints - these are dolphin and whales. Each yellow marker can have 3 to 10 dolphins or 1 to 3 whales (sorry - I did not place any whales in the Indian Ocean)

Green marker are icebergs

Hi Trevally!

Thanks for the quick reply and thanks for the whale/dolphin-map! Now I can also play "marine biologist" when I'm done sinking ships.

I'll try going to some of the points and having a look around. Can you maybe think of a reason (based on my mod combination) for why I shouldn't be able to find any?

Its a big ocean

For whale hunting - I would try from West Ireland down to Spain. Also all down the West coast of Africa. East coast of South America. South coast of Greenland to Iceland

First time I hunted down a contact and it turned out to be a whale I got a pretty good laugh. Thanks Trevally.

Happy hunting HUGINMUNIN and welcome aboard belatedlyJust don't kill a whale in American waters; they take the Marine Mammal Protection Act seriously...you could be a war criminal!

I chased a whale once from the southwest UK coast up to just south of Ireland.

A real find tho is an enemy sub. You can't sink a whale but you can a Brit sub. LOL
