Default USS Nevada(BB-36) Discovered On The Pacific Seafloor

It's not a graveyard I say let it be nevertheless.

Quote:
The USS Nevada served in both World Wars. After protecting supply ships in Ireland during World War One, Nevada was the only battleship to get underway during the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor in 1941. It then sailed across the Atlantic to the UK to take part in the Allied D-Day landings in June 1944 – the largest seaborne invasion in history – before heading to the Pacific to play a pivotal role in the invasion of Okinawa.

I saw that on the weather channel. She was found three miles below the surface! I could run that distance on land!

I think that it is really cool!

I find it highly disrespectful to just use it for target practice.
May as well launch all the old Space Shuttles and see if We can shoot them down.
Saves money which is the most likely reason they sunk the Nevada!

She was highly radioactive after Test Baker and the ability to decontanimate was still in it's infancy.

Along with the other test ships, namely the Pennsylvania, New York, Salt Lake City and Pensacola, etc, it was simply easier to conduct what would be now called a SINKEX.
