Default Dive alarm in sfx.agg

Does anyone remember the name of the dive alarm file in the 688i sfx.agg file?
I'm only looking for the sound of the actual alarm.
Man, I'm getting old..

Edit- Nevermind, *DING*.

So, anyway. What I'm up to is trying to update the 688i and Seawolf sound files in RA.

I just got tired of listening to the COB, its about time he retired.

I've tried adding "Finiteless's Second Sound Mod 3 688I interface" to the 688i in RA 1.51 and it works fine- except I've lost my dive alarm.

Has anyone else tried this and got everything to work? My first hunch is that there are separate installs for the 688 and the Seawolf and maybe the .agg files got mixed up or else the .wav files are the wrong bit size??

Eventually, I also want to make a custom sound set for the Flt 1 688. All I need to do is find an old school klaxon .wav file. On the Bremerton, we pulled a raid on what was left of my old boat, the Barbel, and snagged a couple of her klaxons for Control and Maneuvering.

Hey Bob,

Yes, that's my understanding. The old 'SC Sound Edit' program still works for me. But you need to put the new sound file into each boat's sfx.agg for it to work with each boat.

I managed to have 3 soundings of the dive alarm added to the 'Surface, Surface' sound file (that's accurate, right??). That was a few versions of RA ago...

EDIT - the 'Surface, Surface' sound is E_COW_23.wav and I believe the Dive Alarm is DING.wav

I've also searched high and low for the Russian 'Meters!' sound file in the game - I want to make that a silent sound, so that it doesn't sound weird when you change depths on the Western diesels. Haven't found it yet...

Good luck on the project!
Stew

Right click to download the .wav.

The alarm in the GQ sound file is the basic General Alarm.

Quite like the dive alarm its better than the UK ones

Although the angry doorbell used in the RN ships can be ear splitting to say the least.

I heard in RA 1.51 ding sound alarm was removed when surfacing, well it's true but i still see it in some subs, for example U212.
