Kill pennants on return to port plus welcoming committee.
It's a bit of a dream of mine to have these. I miss the send off from the dock in SH3. Wouldn't it be great to have a mod whereby when you get to a certain distance of your home port (say when you're picked up by the escort), you get an accurate string of pennants from your scope based on your mission. I have no idea how to do this but I love that feeling of getting home after a successful mission and this'd really add to it.

Pennants: no idea.
Welcoming committee: One could probably port SH3 wecoming party to SH5, if you don't mind crude models and endlessly repeating animations. For proper welcoming party, we lack the ability to create custom animations still. |

Just reading Iron Coffins and all accounts talk about backing the boat out from the pen, which makes sense. It’s a minor detail but I’d like to see this too. Incidentally, there are ‘crowd cheering’ wave files in the game so I think this was planned but never implemented. |

There are literally thousands (editk, maybe hundreds but still...) of leftover files from SH3/SH4 in SH5 game folder. This game was kicked out of the front door with its pants down so to speak.

If only Ubisoft'd give us the code. There's a bunch of things I'd love to see. More crew management a la SHIII. Some sense to what's happening during repairs (my chief always seems to get wounded). A captain's office in port and the welcoming committee I mentioned. |

Yes, they did. The BdU decided to do it because all traffic would need help navigating the minefields in and around the harbor, so they usually paired up a Uboat with a minesweeper before leaving or before entering to navigate them around the port minefields.

The Pendants Mods used the StateMachine controllers in SH3 and SH4.
Take a close look and you'll see that has been neutered in SH5.

One problem was the 'Walking a tight rope' when leaving the bunker. You can see it here. https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...9&postcount=70 Given all the 3D models one can not see in a stock bunker? A room could be modded into an office or? My preferred choice would be a Bar!

Either would be nice. Plus a much more involved crew management.
I’m being spoiled but I’d also like a captain’s journal that didn’t have any of the other text box stuff in it that you could write in easily and would save screenshots to black and white pictures. |

Pennants!! yes that would be cool.
Also a Sea and Anchor detail. Meaning when you are about to dock...men will be on deck ready to throw lines to men on shore to tie down the boat. Kind of a pipe dream...but those level of details seem like small things but have a big impact on immersion.

While we're dreaming how about the officers and crew lined up on deck in and out of port? Flower presentations when you leave and throw them overboard before you hit the ocean. |
