Default GWX 3.0 Periscope problem, or is it?

It seems my sub wont go deep enough when going to P depth. Its type IIa and every time i try to submerge the sub atually stays at 9m leaving my conning tower partially visible on surface. Now i dont know if this counts for AI to detect it, but atleast it looks damn silly. And the second thing this affects is the periscope depth gauge in Periscope station. In vanilla i can raise the whole periscope to the full length like in the picture near the scale which shows the actual depth but in GWX it doesnt go that far. Like the red arrow showing periscope height is way too low.

Few pics to clarify my problem.

edit.
It also looks like when clicking new depth its always few meters off. Like when i try to put 15 meters manually it forces the sub to stay in 12-13m, weather calm.

Welcome, Kaluen.

At what speed? GWX manual alerts us to the fact that at lower speeds it'll be hard to maintain intended depth, which is in fact quite realistic. When I'm sitting in wait, stopped, the conning tower slowly broaches the surface, terrifying the life out of me. To maintain P depth I have to regularly engage forward or reverse motion. Depth stability is attained by both buoyancy and dive planes, which are sometimes referred to as "stabilizers" for a reason. If you're stopped, you only have buoyancy...
Think of how the wings lift and maintain an airplane airborne. If the airplane is too slow, it'll stall and crash. You need speed.

Makes sense. I was standing still watching 1 light cruiser and 3 destroyers passing by and was pretty horrified(like you said) when my conning tower popped on the surface

Apparently the periscope meter on the right side of the sight is affected by the type of the submarine. As i was doing the last naval academy mission with model VII the red arrow rose higher than in model II.
