I'm having the same problem. Guys, if I put it on a disk otherwise than C: but use the program filesX86 folder will it work, For example my copy of Wolves of the pacific is on E: program files x86. Or does it absolutely have to be some generic folder like games for example even on another disk than C:

probably not.
most of us put Ubi stuff in its own folder. for example:
C:\Ubisoft\SH3
C:\Ubisoft\SH4 (or Silent Hunter 4 or whatever you want)

Stay away from default-Ubi.

I'm really confused at this point. How do I redownload the steam version to a seperate folder and have it work? I just tried to copy the steam version to a ubisoft/SH4 folder and it does work at all. I tried using my disk first and it gave me a 1.0 version of wolves of the pacific. I'm stumped to how to get this mod working. I can't even find a way to install the game elsewhere. EDIT! I finally think I figured it out. I was trying to start the mod on the UBOAT extension game. I have it working on wolves of the pacific regular so far! so far so cool. A lot different now! And i am using the steam version on my E drive programs x86

Moving Steam stuff can be rather "long-winded" to say the least. If you have a 2nd usable hard drive, you just create a 2nd Steam Library on the 2nd hard drive, and install the game to that. If however, you only have one usable hard drive, such as a laptop usually, then you are left with re-installing Steam itself, as well as your games, or "moving" things manually, which basically accomplishes the same thing. Consult "Moving a Steam Installation and Games" on the Steam Support site for some info on that. You can physically copy and move an SH Steam game to another location and mod that, but dependent upon the OS and configuration of the computer, you might have to create a Steam short-cut for it, such that the game starts through the Steam front-end and does its proper "license" check, else the game won't start. When making a copy to move, the original game has to stay where it is installed for the Windows registry to find, and the Steam licensing to use... but no two computers are exactly the same, and ymmv...

Got it working. I was trying to launch it from wolves of the pacific uboat missions like you would with the excellent Japanese mod. I started up regular wolves of the pacific and whammo. running right out of the gate. Only problem I'm having is launching torpedoes. They won't fire when I hit the fire button. Does everything have to be set up manually or something to fire torpedoes ?, I have the game set for the easiest possible.
