Default SCSoundEdit question

Hey all, here's hoping someone actually sees this topic!
I've recently rediscovered these games and am trying to do some casual modding to make them even more fun to play. Primarily, I'd love to improve the sound effects and music/ambience. I've been trying to post on various forums and e-mail any address I can find, since info and tools on this subject are pretty rare on the internet these days.
My questions are regarding using the SCSoundEdit utility. Specifically, I'm trying to use it to enhance the sounds in SCS Fleet Command, which uses the same format as Sub Command and Dangerous Waters. The problem I'm running into is that the tool doesn't seem to be able to handle .agg files with a lot of audio data in them. Whether I start with a file from DW or FC, if I add too many audio clips, I get an access violation error. The .agg file is then corrupted and can't be opened again.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Great to be back honestly! The small silver linings of quarantine.

Well, I found another agg utility on the web created by Dr. Sid. It looks like it has potential, but it won't unpack the Fleet Command sfx.agg file. My theory is that it's because of the large volume of data stored in it (again).

Does anyone know if Dr. Sid is still around? And if so, how I could get in touch with him? Maybe if I could get the source code, I could see if I can modify it to work with FC.

Same result with the FC sfx.agg file and scsoundedit tool.

I am also looking for the agg.exe tool.
