Default FOTRSU TDC Range/Mast Height Issue

Been playing SH4 for years now and because of the limitations in the game of manually setting the TDC range greater than 6500 yds I have come up with a good process over the years. When I contact a target (usually radar) I mark it, get its speed and course and mark the course on the map and plot my intercept well ahead of target. When in position I will manually set my TDC range to max of 6500 yds, plug in the known target speed and estimated AOB when target gets within 6500 of boat. When target gets there and I have checked the speed and AOB I start the TDC running. This way, even if I am not tracking the target by radar or visually I can have a relatively accurate picture of the situation as long as target doesn't change speed or course.

Running FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_v0.90 over clean SH4 v1.5 install. I can't set the TDC range dial to 6500 - closest I get is around 1240. In non-FOTRSU versions I just grabbed the range ring on outside of dial and spun it till it stopped and that was 6500. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Found this a long time ago. Don't remember who posted it.

--Clickable target distance dial--
Hi all,
Wanna directly move TARGET DISTANCE DIAL instead of TAGET MAST HEIGHT DIAL on the attack data tool?
I found the way, its piece of cake.

Open the file \Data\Menu\cfg\Dials.cfg
Just only add or delete semicolon at each top of 4 lines and change 1 value,
OR copy and paste following description
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Dial58]
; will be changed by code
Name=TorpedoSolution_Mast_Height
Type=70; DIAL_TGT_MAST_HEIGHT_INTERNATIONAL
;Cmd=Set_tgt_mast_height_international; <--- add semicolon
Dial=0x431A0002
CrtVal=0x431A0001
NewVal=0x0
DialVal=-90,98
RealVal=15,130; height
Circular=Yes
;CmdOnDrag=Yes; <--- add semicolon
Logarithmic=7.189;4.656
;RelativeDrag=Yes
;SndStep=5
;SndList=1,Menu.TDC.AngleOnBow,360

[Dial59]
; will be changed by code
Name=TorpedoSolution_Temporary_Range
Type=68; DIAL_TGT_RANGE
Cmd=Set_tgt_sel_value; <--- delete semicolon
Dial=0x431A0001
CrtVal=0x431A0003
NewVal=0x0
;DialVal=10,0 <--- add semicolon
DialVal=17,0 <--- change value (*)
RealVal=11000,220; range
Circular=Yes
CmdOnDrag=Yes; <--- delete semicolon
Logarithmic=-0.98;51.0
RelativeDrag=Yes <---delete semicolon (edit:fix for mouse point problem)
;SndStep=5
;SndList=1,Menu.TDC.AngleOnBow,360
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all!

Thanks a lot for looking that up but it didn't work. I would include screen shots of the issue but can't seem to put an image in unless I pull it from a URL. With non-FORTSU sH4 scope and TBT you have a multi-function mast height/range, AOB, and speed dial top right and below it the range dial where you can crank in the range manually.

In FOTRSU you have the multi-function dial in upper right and below it the torpedo tube selector and firing button but no range dial. If there is a range dial available, don't know where it is.
