Default Question about the Scene.DAT file

I see that in SH3 1.4b the Scene.DAT file has set the Max wave height at 256, while in GWX3.0 the value for that param is 320.

By changing it to 256 in GWX, can it cause a disaster or will it cause to have smaller waves in rough seas only?

Is it possible to cause negative effects on the game? Is it safe to change this?

Any input will be most welcome. Thanks a lot in advance!

Changing it will make ships/subs behave differently on the surface. It may also affect various sensors; changing the wave parameters in sim.cfg does iirc.

But the question is...why would you change something working fine, at the risk of breaking gameplay?...

GWX ships tend to bounce around a lot, especially in heavy weather ?

So the best easier thing to do would be to reduce waves height value (y) in scene.dat/wind/waves/15ms waves in my opinion

I use Thompson's parameter app myself; changes the ships vs. the environment.

Thanks a lot for your replies... will take all that into account... yes, the behavior of ships in rough seas is what made me think about the waves height...
