Default Making a battleship-sub....

I have totally implemented a battlecruiser, everything is in place and workin' properly. As I was interested in the possibility of using it as a submarine , I added the diving and surface systems. It works fine, and it keeps quite stable until it reaches 30ft deep. But, from 30ft, it sinks forward and it starts an unrecoverable fall . My other problem is that, altought it sinks smoothly and it reaches the bottom at 0 speed, it starts suffering quite severe damages in its central structure after a while resting.
My two main questions are:
1-How could I level the fall under 30ft (which parameters should I adjust)?
2-When I use the same parameters in a submarine, it works perfectly. What should I change in the battlecruiser files in order to achieve the same behavior?

Thank you everybody!

I think it's another one too...

Prow shape and cannons' turret looks really different each other.

Lorelei

Surcouf (left) unknown (right)

my BAD. I agree it's close but not quite.

In the movie Lorelei, the germans capture the french Surcouf submarine and set it up with a midget sub, a Biber, in the rear hangar that housed the submarine's recon plane.

The inside is also fitted, in the movie, with german gears and gauges.

In RL the USAF sank the Surcouf when a B24 LIberator mistook it for a german sub in Florida in 1942 : the records of the 6th Heavy Bomber Group operating out of Panama show them sinking a large submarine the morning of 19 February.

Other nations tried out the cruiser-submarine type, like Britain's X1 seen here above.

On the other fictionous hand, Lorelei is a good movie, I enjoyed it.

First time Ive heard of this movie, sounds good im definitely going to try and find it.

IMDb review
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406941/
Quote:
Lorelei can best be described as a Japanese version of "Das Boot" with a supernatural storyline thrown in. The setting is the last week of WWII, Hiroshima having just been bombed. A Japanese veteran captain is given command of a German-surplus submarine with a secret weapon, the "Lorelei System". As viewers of Japanese movies will know, scenes with English-speaking characters usually end up very awkward, with the English-speakers often being cheap local "talent" grabbed off the street, in most cases with very questionable English credentials. But this movie was just about on-par with the classic Tora Tora Tora, using professional Hollywood and local English-speaking actors that portray their roles to near perfection, making the whole movie flow smoothly. Without giving away spoilers, it's difficult to review this movie. But the advancement of computer graphics has made for some really visually stunning submarine battle action. If anything, the surface vessels come across as being a bit lifeless, as the effort was spent on the underwater sequences. At 140 minutes the movie is long, and by western standards probably somewhat talky, but there is a lot of political maneuvering going on in this movie, plus the diverting from history as we know it, that requires the additional dialogue. All actors put in very decent performances, the soundtrack is fittingly orchestrated and the cinematography excellent. While not being the classic that "Das Boot" was, this movie is very enjoyable, and with subtitles could potentially get a decent western cult following.

I hope, that himself can find this submarine, but out of money not made this. So now I place this foto for modding game.

Or why not try to make a playable Sen Toku

A real monster submarine.

Armaments was 3 aircrafts.
8x533mm forward torpedo tubes, 20x533mm Type 95 torpedoes, 1x140mm gun, 3x25mm machine guns, 1x25mm machine gun

The japs made 3 of them during the war from 1944-1945 and all survived the war.

They probably only survived because the war ended as they were making their first operational cruise in an attempt to strike the US carrier anchorage at Ulithi atoll. The Japanese had given up on the idea of using them against the Panama Canal Zone at that point.

Denis,

do you have any more information regarding the sub in your picture ?

Does the photo date back to WWII ?

Where and how did you get it ?

do you have a higher resolution scan of that photo ? there are 2 sailors visible I think on the aft starboard side.

Nice idea. It is quite feasible. The only problem is that I need to adjust the sinking/surfacing parameters when making sub-cruisers. As I already mentioned, when I use submarine parameters for boats, they do not behave the same... ouch.

Answers:
Foto this submarine is near all what I have. Alsa know that it japan submarine abd have 2 305mm guns.

Verification that it foto made during WWII I can not made. During I himself know about submarines, I can say that it submarine was building between WWI and WWII, so during WWI sich submarines can not building. It was techical impossible. After WWII from all submarines guns was delete. So submarine in foto was building after WWI and before end WWII.

I receive this foto from one american man in 1999 year with other materials about unidentifikied few other german and japan submarines from USN during WWII. For example 1 US destroyer during DC attack submarine rise from water wrecks from attacking submarine what she domding DC. Or other when near Alaska other US destroyer DC other japan submarine and see she hull rise from water after explosions DC and after it down into water. All knowlege japan submarine not was in place in time attack DC.

I have not more resolution this foto. Simple - it's single foto what I have to this japan submarine.

If interesting more about unidentified submarines...
