Eventually Newcastle will flirt with relegation once too often and down they'll go, once back down with the other stiffs its going to be a long time before they're back in the premier league, especially with Ashley in charge.

Is it Bruce, Ashley's or the players at fault, I would say they're all equally to blame, Bruce isn't a good manager, Ashley isn't a good owner and the players aren't much good either which is a bleeding recipe for disaster.
The management will have already seen the relegation writing on the wall this season and they'll be praying that those overpaid pillocks on the field can do something about it.
I think they'll survive this season but some major changes need to take place in the summer because next season.......who knows.

^ Your comment made me remember what fan of a football team once said to me.

I would rather see my team on top in a lower division than being a sandbag (boxing)for other team in the topdivision.

if the unthinkable happens and the mighty toon go down then the fat controler will be having a fire sale of all the Toons best players (just like Leeds Utd's fall from grace and their fire sale in the early 2000's)
Mr Ashley will have to lower is asking price for Newcastle and if the price is right then suiters will be hovering the Mighty toon will rise again for sure please bring back the sexy direct football the good old faustino asprila days

The alternative being Fatty won't drop his price out of spite to the fans he knows revile him and TOON will end up like the mackems.

Either way I reckon cabbage heed will never get another opportunity to manage a Premiership club again.

He is currently on 57k a week and Fatty certainly won't want to pay out compensation when he is currently looking at his retail empire crumbling in front of his eyes.

Its not only his retail empire that's crumbling, you can add Newcastle football club to his list as well, this scenario always happens when things are going wrong.

Next game is at West Brom. Lose that and it's probably all over.

Following comment is football related.

One day in the future, hopefully soon I will take the train from Copenhagen to either London and from there on to Newcastle.
or

Train from Copenhagen to Amsterdam and from there sail to Newcastle.

Whatever I chose I'm going to stay at some hotel for 4 nights.

And buy a VIP ticket to one of TOONS homegame

Saddened to see another of footballs legends, Peter Lorimer has left us. I saw him play quite a few times back in the day.

To those who like football

What is your opinion on this new European Super League ?

I say it's wrong I do understand why FIFA and UEFA reject it.

From a supporter's perspective I am not in favor of this. It will remove some of what appeals to me about football. I won't go through the list, but as just one example, having the big teams out means no cup games for minnows against the traditional giants. Giant killings or no, these games have a romance about them, with just the gate from a small team's game at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge potentially matching their wage bill for the whole year. And if that minnow wins.... New giants would emerge in the vacuum, but it would be bad in the short term.

From a pragmatic perspective I think these clubs should be able to do whatever they please. The notion of United or Liverpool being guardians of the game is archaic, but widely held. But the bottom line is that these are (mostly) privately held companies that should be free to pursue whichever path they decide is best for their self interests. As supporters we may recoil at the thought of a breakaway league, but it isn't up to us.

This idea of a super league has been around a long time. This isn't new, and shouldn't be as shocking as it seems to be. The only shock should be that Spurs are somehow in it
