cool Some good ideas, but wait a minute..

I usually don't weather boats at this scale, unless its the topside area or sail and only then I keep it minimal.

A couple of big mistakes in this video:

DON'T add the DSRV targets if you're planning to weather the hull.
US boats only have the DSRV targets painted on for their first couple of test dives during New Construction or Sea Trials after a re-fit/overhaul. The hull is as clean as its ever going to get during this time. Nothing frosts my anchor like seeing those damn targets on what's supposed to be an operational boat.

A boat that's doing work involving a DSRV or an SDV uses much smaller versions of that "DSRV target". Maybe a white X painted on the hatch and some white lines painted on the rear edge of the sail. US subs are heavily into "form follows function" and you only want to use the bare amount of white paint.

Hull growth- I don't add it because it tends to box you into a corner. A boat that's logging 100-200 miles a day isn't going to have a lot of stuff growing on the hull. A boat that's been sitting at a warm-water port for a while will have some growth on it. One other thing about that green hull growth, its green because its a plant. Plants mostly need sunlight to grow and this stuff will only exist about 3-6 feet below the surface (and rarely on the bottom half of the hull). So, if you really need to add it, don't go hog wild. Its a submarine, not a tank at the Battle Of Stalingrad.

Stuff you DO want to dirty up: Find the diesel exhaust at the top-rear corner of the sail. Nuke boats run their diesels more than most folks think. Slap on some greasy dark gray/blue/brown stains below those exhaust vents.
Which brings up the topside non-skid paint. Non-skid tends to hold onto dirt. Imagine your model sitting at the pier, where would the brow be located?
On a 688, the main hatch for the crew is the WEPS SHIPPING HATCH and the brow is usually located six to ten feet behind it. Add some gray and brown stains between these two points. It only has to be a thin line of staining. While the Topside PO is supposed to walk along the anti-skid during his watch, that doesn't mean he's going to do it a lot.

"Salt water stains". Again, don't go too crazy. The first thing the in-port duty section does after returning from sea is a FRESH WATER WASHDOWN of the upper hull.
