Ooh, thanks for the thorough checking.

I would like to get the cables displayed though. Any idea how to edit the .dat enough to export them?

Just individually. I'm not certain you can do them all at once, like you can with copying sets of Nodes and their children with the <Shift><Ctrl><C> key combination, and then pasting them elsewhere... but you can open and then select, like for example, "58: 3D model", like you are doing for the sil images and the ships themselves. You could grab one of the textures from one of the other cablu nodes off another ship maybe, or just use that #6 "metal" texture?? I am not sure. We would have to wait for s7rikeback or someone more knowledgeable than myself to come along and enlighten us...

OK, I was able to get the materials for cablu02 and cablu03 changed so I could export them and immediately hit another quality issue...

The rear cable for NBB_Nagato_catarg fails to meet the M03 turret by a small amount. Its height is correct but it falls a but too aft. This is remedied by altering the Z coordinate of M03 to be -5.162.

NBB_Nagato_cablu02 has MANY alignment issues. One cable on the port aft falls too far back from its intersection with NBB_Nagato_catarg. A forward cable completely fails to meet the M02 turret top and there is no nice way to remedy it without editing cablu02. Several cables fail to meet nicely on the aft horizontal sections and many cables fail to be symmetrical to the funnel, the forward superstructure and the superstructure spars. Cablu02 is a mess. In fact look at it from above where it meets the aft mast. Something is badly wrong with it.

I will do what I can for the silhouettes but an engineer needs to go up there with a pair of pliers and tidy it up!

... perhaps some cable cutters and drop them completely?... lol - that might be why they weren't too concerned with importing the texture file?? That is quite a bit of a complicated array of cabling! - just get a general outline for the sil, if you even want to bother with that...

It is a complicated set, I agree. The catch is that if I drop cablu02 and cablu03, there are others embedded with the other masts and I would have to snip them in blender too.

The end result was this for the silhouette (transparent background on the DDS of course)...

Wow! Nice! When you think about it, Yamamoto used that as his flagship at the beginning of the war, and it would have had quite a bit of radio antennae and flag hoisting cabling.Man, what a mess!.. Looks really good!

I have updated Pack 06, Carriers to reflect the reworked model for the NCV Shinano.

The dimensions have changed to 262, 11.2, 47 to reflect the lovely new model and mast.

I have a question about the float planes on the USS NBB_Nevada.

The in-game model shows the aft float plane facing the rear and a floatplane rail on the M03 aft turret (unsure if a plane appears there ingame or not).

According to a website ( http://shipbucket.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8058 ) in 1938 the Nevada had two planes in the locations specified but both facing FORWARD. In 1942 the M03 plane was removed and the rail taken off.

Which of the two versions is our Nevada supposed to represent?

For starters the X01 plane needs turning round and we may need to alter the M03 turret from 14InchDoubleUSN_SP to 14InchDoubleUSN.

In order for Nevada to be post-Pearl accurate she would need a complete remodel of the secondary armament, masts and superstructure. The vessel in the game at the moment appears to be the pre-Pearl version.

For the moment I will keep the M03 float plane facing forward but I would suggest that she goes into the dock for her repairs and refit to bring her to the 1942 specification.

The Nevada, as seen currently in FotRSU is the 1935 to June 1943 version, as seen here:

What you are referring to is the post-modernization of July 1943:

It would be nice to have both versions of all of the BB in the game, but that is a lot of cabina noodlinz...

Ah, thanks for the explanation. Nevada is done in its current incarnation.

Coming in very late here, sorry for the absence.
Let me look at the NBB_Iowa & NBB_NewJersery.

I have had the NBB_Nagato open and wow... as stated the cables are a right mess, and it also has 2 x hull models, and two boats hiding in the hull, I can also see two small mast spurs / cables are not connected, and also alot of missing textures, again as described by Daniel. Will report back soon.
