Default Watery Grave

Firstly, thank you to subsim and all it's contributors for the links and info provided on this site. Well worth the few £ SUBscription.

I played SHIII years ago and loved it, but eventually it got left behind. I stumbled across it again on steam 2 years ago and decided to give it a bit of disk space but it was unplayable, technology has moved on.

Then You-tube (99.9999% rubbish, but occasionally something useful pops up) randomly suggested a SHIII mods video....I got on that quicker than a seagull gets on a surfaced sub!!! It's time to raise the legend that is SHIII from it's watery grave.

So I've tweaked, poked, added, re-installed, un-installed, sworn, re-installed 1 or 2 (dozen) more times and reached a point where I'm so nearly there....but not quite.

1.4 patch, arb wide gui, gwx, hsie jsgme all done and it runs and looks good. The current issue is the F5 map, I've got the over lay of tools and that all works but the map itself is duplicated. It's 1 map, showing twice, half screen each with bases showing deep inland (I'm not a sub mariner but even I know that's wrong)

Does anyone know of tweak that can rectify this ????

Any assistance would be much appreciated

tree-fella! we have many here who can 'tweak whilst they rectify'...help should be along presently!

Probably some mod conflict. I'm no GWX crack, but a mod list will probably help. Can you produce a mod list from JSGME? Do you have any non JSGME mods active?

I gave it a try but makes no difference, everything else works fine. I can open training, single missions and the campaign but the map is broken every time.

1st off....
You have the Black Sea campaign activated which over writes the stock campaign files.
Then the Indian Ocean over writes the Black Sea.
THEN the Combined Campaign over writes that!
Not to mention the Lite Harbor traffic is in the wrong place.
Remove all those and stick with the installed campaign files UNLESS playing in the Black Sea or Indian Ocean.
If you want lite harbor traffic? Go ahead and install that.
Unless you are playing the VIIC41? you don't need the late war senzors.
Read the included manual.
It explains all this stuff and many MONTHS were spent to produce the finest Manual EVER included with a Mod.

I also don't think you should have the 16K activated if using ARB.

ARB does require a few 'patches' as I have read. Tycho's being last.

It is indeed a fine and detailed manual.
I've reduced the mods to
ARB WideGui
GWX-Merged Campaign

And Tycho…...I'd put it in the SH file but hadn't run it!! Now that I have, all seems to working as it should be.
