When I was young, I had a sound effects CD (no idea why). One of the sound effects was a bunch of kittens meowing. One day I decided to see how my father's cats would react to the sound.

It was hilarious. Both cats began looking around almost frantically for the kittens. They were looking under the bed and in the closet. I'm sure they hadn't seen or heard one since they were kittens themselves. But I suppose that's how strong the parenting instinct can be.
