Default Hi from Melbourne, Australia

Hi,
Found this site while trying to get SH3 running on my Win10 laptop. No luck so far. (We are in lockdown, so I am quite bored ). I might try Wolfpack and see how I go. I am a beginner, so don't sink me too brutally.
cheers,
TermiMonster

Default Thanks

Thanks for the welcome.
I am currently trying to get SH3 happening on Win10, with limited success.

But it's been done before (apparently), so I shall persevere.

Default good now

thanks for reply.
Following directions found following links on this site, I'm up and running.
I have a ver1.4 locked CD.
I went through a convoluted process of downloading all sorts of patches and mods, etc, but finally found the correct patch (and worked out how to apply it).
I even installed and got running VirtualBox, and loaded XP, got it going, worked out how to get various things happening on that, but finally got SH3 working on Win10.
I just have the vanilla ver, I might enhance it later.
Now I just have to work out how to stop getting depth-charged into oblivion.
cheers,
TM

Welcome to Subsim and thanks for giving Wolfpack a go, that is really cool.

What's life in Melbourne like these days? What's the price of an average 2000 sq ft home going for, something outside the city? You guys doing the peaceful protest thing over there?

Thanks,
I haven't looked at Wolfpack yet, 1 thing at a time.

Not so good. We have an almost complete lockdown. (I could abuse the govt of Chairman Dan, but I don't want to get banned on my first week)

Real Estate is quite expensive, but it seems that the bubble might burst due to current Recession. I can't really give you a ballpark, go to realestate.com.au for specific examples, but not much for sale due to lockdown (no inspections allowed, no auctions allowed, etc)

We probably should be, but the cops are so heavy handed, you get arrested for looking sideways. Victoria has gone to the dogs. Hopefully, things will improve after lockdown finishes.
(pessimistic, aren't I?)
cheers,
TM
