Would be a good time for another vid... that's 1½ years old. God I hate how Oleg keeps his mouth shut. Would be nice to know how close to release we are.

Interesting video made by the IL2/BoBII movie maker, Mysticpuma, recorded at International Flight Simulation show at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre where he tracked down Oleg & Ilya and had a chat with them about BoB:SoW.

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...44906641648934

(for whom doesnt know, Ilya's on the left & Oleg's the one flying.)

Old video (Dec '06), but got me drooling. Shows lots of features we (well I havent) havent seen anywhere about, BoB:SoW. For example, Oleg is manning an Flak gun at 10:25. I had only heard rumours about it and though it will be included if it is possible.. seems like it is in already.

Found from WarClouds forums.

EDIT: Oh and Oleg confirms the question about DirectX that ST asked, they are working on OpenGL.

EDIT2: Holy dang! The more I watch, the more I drool! Way better water than in FSX, tracers ricocheting of hard surfaces when you strafe something just like you see in some guncam vids.

Let's just say that I wont be flying anything else than the P51 till I master it. I've been reading tons of "stories" of IL2 P51 pilots and if one can master P51, he usually is on the top of the score list no matter what plane he is up against.

Yeh, for me to do anything with this. I managed to outturn a Spitfire last night, AI of course, but still. And turn fighted an FW190D today online and shot him down.

And so is the P51, FW190 works almost exactly the same way as the P51 in IL2, 190 just doesnt get that much performance boost by playing with the prop pitch.

Looks like there might be another update sometime soon.

Quote:
Greetings folks,
I see a lot of rumors going around about SOW being dead, discontinued, taking out of webstores, etc...not only on this forum, others as well...

It is NOT dead, and one of the reason Oleg is not around is THE indication of that. They are extremely busy with development, working crazy hours, etc. Oleg mentioned to me that he did not forget about you people and that IF he has time, he will organize some kind of update in the nearest future.

The end

Yup, and it was supposed to be released in 2006.

I just hope this wont be another 'Duke Nukem Forever'-kind of project. I know Oleg wants the best he can get, so: new flight sim comes out = BoB:SoW delayed so Oleg and his team can do whatever the other game does, but better.

Wouldnt be that surprised if the rumoured Q3 2008 release would be delayed as well.

Come ooon Ubi, you've rushed out all your games, do it now too!! :rotfl:
