GPL is back for 2020.
Go to fullscreen (open a new tab) to get the download link. Or, you can just go here http://www.gplworld.de/en/grand-prix.../gpl-2020-demo Its been years since I played a racing sim (2007 or 2008?) but I used to play them a lot. I tried GPL a couple of times but never really got into it. I downloaded the updated demo today to try it out and it installed with no issues. My set up is not up to current racing sim standards (no wheel and pedals, just an FS joystick and throttle) but I can cruise around the included tracks like a senior citizen and have a blast. In case you'd like to try it, be aware the screen navigation is not what you're probably used to. Just give it time so you can learn the key assignments (and even exit the game, it can be frustrating at first). Last edited by ET2SN; 01-07-20 at 09:56 PM. |

Yes, have seen it at Race Department. If that thing is not a classic, then I do not know what "lcassic" means.
However I doubt it attracts any new players of the younger crowd that came years after GPL's hey days. Conservation of GPL seems to be a hopbby of now older dudes who played it back then. How long ago is it? 25 years? Around that, I think. Got it on a bonus CD of some magazine some years after its main release. Today I am with Raceroom and both Assetto Corsas and Wreckfest, however. BTW, we have a general games section for stuff like this, and your GPL thread would sit nicely beside my Raceroom thread already there! https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=177

Yeah, I wasn't sure where to post this. Like you said, its not anything close to a current racing sim. If you folks want to move the thread, its fine by me. |

I resemble that and I still like it. It just feels right.

Thrashing the Matra around RA is no where near realistic, but its about as much fun as you can have with your pants on.
The two tracks I missed the most (RA and Sebring) are included. I want to dig around and see if I can get Laguna Seca loaded into the demo. |

I'd love to run the old Laguna Seca track.
