Just to be certain, under the purple colored text "This Preview version is for the adventurous and young at heart" near the bottom of the first post, page one in this thread is a "Spoiler" button. Click on that button to open the text below it. The download link below will then be visible, and is the orange text "Preview" of the next release of Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate. Click on that, and you will be taken to a Google Drive folder page, which is not blocked (usually) by an ad blocker, unless you have the screws turned down tight on your computer. When the page loads, you should see three files in there,
100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_Preview16.7z.001
100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_Preview16.7z.002
100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_Preview16.7z.003
Download each file in turn into one folder, as described in my previous post, and run 7-zip on the first file with the "001" extension, which will then step through the files in turn and create the regular "100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_Preview16" folder of the mod. That is the folder that you then copy or cut into the MODS folder in your game folder (or download the 3 files there, and assemble in the MODS folder). Then use JSGME (a copy is in your Game folder, MODS /100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_Preview16 /Extras) to activate it as usual. Be sure and clear the Save folder prior to starting the game again. You might also have to activate LAA (included) or 4Gig Patch (not included) on the SH4.exe file. You should also download the Preview_EnlistedFix.7z file and apply that after the FotRSU mod is activated. That straightens out the clothing the deck watch wears. Did I cover it OK, or miss the mark?

I think I found a massive campaign bug that seems to be limited to only a single boat.

Anytime I select any career starting with an S-Class, the game crashes. I originally thought it was an issue with my modlist, so I disabled every mod until I got down to just the FotRSU mod and some addons. Even then, any career starting with an S-Class (regardless of year or base) crashed. Any other boat works well, the S-class seems to have an issue or something.

So,

TD;LR- Any career starting with a S-class crashes no matter what.

What FotRS version, are you rolling with...

& seems odd, that this is happening for you, cause I have an S class career ongoing... & no issues with it crashing.

Mind pasting the jsgme mods activated list/s... so as to have that info... to eyeball.

Any chance that you perhaps... dinked about with any of the files in FotRS... either in the main folder or in the game saves folder...???

Clarification: the issue described above was experienced with FotRSU 1.46, not the preview version.

I tinkered with the FotRSU Captain desk picture and the Fleetboat Interior name plate, and captain picture too. However, they both seem to work fine on the fleet boat. I cannot see if they work on an S-class because I have yet to be able to load one.

Captain desk picture in the office works fine too.

Had you emptied the Save folder after activating FotRSU, and prior to playing? Any left-overs from other mods will cause issues, especially with the S-Boats. They are quite different from Stock. If you had GFO applied previously and used a torpedo mod, that will also crash FotRSU if the Save folder is not cleared. If you do not have the LAA or 4Gig Patch properly applied on the SH4.exe file, that will also crash the game, but it would be for all boats as soon as you encounter a "busy" scene. Make certain that if you are using vicker's interior mod, that you do it last.

Good Evening Gentlemen,
I have not posted for a while. I have successfully be sunk in The USS Normandy. That was fun. I was raiding Turk at night heading back to Pearl.
I thought I was being fired on by land units. I was on the surface, heading NE. I realized too late it was mines. When I made my second attempt, I sustained 88% hull damage. Upon my return, I guess the game acts like an insurance company. Command made the statement, How did you ever make it back?. They then scrapped The titan and gave me command of another boat.


In reporting on the FOTRSH pre16, I have completed one campaign. I started on Dec 9, 1941 and returned to pearl on June 28,1942. Long patrol. I have the increased difficulty add-ons (both) installed. I find that the planes ignore me most of the time. I have stayed surfaced to confirm this. when attacking a convoy or task force they do not seem to be too aggressive. I have found that if I play in the multiplayer part of the game, it is all I can do to get away from the ships and the multiple torpedoes launched at me. So I am not sure if this is normal or not. I would like to be able to get the campaign to give me the same difficulty as the multiplayer.
I do not know how to edit those files. I only go as far as editing boats to work with FOTRSH. I am working on the Typhoon at moment. I find it interesting due to it has different control key settings. I also am trying to figure out how to control the harpoon torpedoes lol any way thank you FOTRSH team. This is a great mod!!! Keep up the great work.

Do you have your super-sub built as a Mod? If so, can you post a link to that, and I'll look at it, and see if there is something set a pinch incorrectly, and maybe that's why the planes ignore you? You are missing a LOT of "fun" not getting bombed or torpedoed by a Betty... or even a Zero Kamikaze...

yes it is set as a mod. I add it with Jsgme along with all the mods I use. I with setup a download link and PM it to you. You can see what I may or may not have off. Thank you as always

The IJN radar was a bit on the "over-the-top" side, and hence they were able to bird dog you rather accurately. We could make that an optional mod... ?? lol - I haven't had a chance to noodle with your boat yet, but hopefully tomorrow. Thanks

A mod for that would be good I would also like to find out what the difference is between multiplayer mode and campaign mode is. I know in multiplayer mode the escorts zero in on me rather quickly. They have given me large hull damage and put holes in my boat. I would like to figure it out and do a mod that I can add and remove. I would not like that for the other boats I use. Thank you Propbeanie for your time and pointers.
