Default Dive Bot

One note about the Dive Bot. It is very good at holding depth, even when firing torpedoes. But currently, if you need to go deep in a hurry, the Dive Bot does not currently use the negative tank -- you have to manage that yourself.

Other things to note:
You must manage the compressed air.
Helm Bot will not switch to Diesel upon surfacing.

Connection tip: behind a router, you have to open UDP ports # 3478, 4379 & 4380 from the router to your local IP address.

The Dive bot will use the negative tank if you order a crash dive using the right side icon.

If you are already submerged and you order crash dive using the icon, the negative tank is not used.

Edit: after testing, I see the dive bot uses the neg tank only the first time a cd is ordered. If you order a cd, he uses the neg tank; if you surface, then order a cd again, he does not use the negative tank. I will fwd this to the devs, thanks.

Good tips, I will include them above, thanks!

bullhorn Setting up the Enigma tutorial

With the mission editor, you will now receive coded messages from BdU. This tutorial will show you how to set up your Enigma machine and decode those vital comms from Bdu.

ok, figured it out, easier to explain with a screenshot.

"E" key brings up periscope overlay.

"V" key switches between "V" and "H" scale.

use right, left, up, down arrows to navigate through menu.

To use "V" scale, 1) ID ship, in this case "Heavy Tanker 12"; 2) determine height that you will measure. In this case, top of mast which is 28 meters; 3) scroll through menu until 28 height is at top of overlay.

note that table will automatically switch between 1.5x or 6x magnification depending what you are using.

measuring height to top of mast gives you 80 milliradians which on the scale gives a result of 12.8. Multiply by 100 gives you distance of 1280 meters.

"H" scale works on the same principle, except you are using length of ship measured on horizontal plane.

p.s. - this is a very nice addition, much easier to use than the previous method.
