Some news about the Von Dos work. We decided to make a collaboration with Von Dos. For now, I'll make all the texture of his model. The future ones and I will update the old ones, that are already release.

I've started by the models for the Regia Marina. The idea is to make some texture update by naval forces, Regia Marina, Kriegsmarine, Royal Navy, USN etc.. Using each time the fabulous model done by Von Dos.

I Use SH4, but Von Dos can converted my work for his SH3 model (It's almost the same folder structure for SH4 and SH3) so no problem to update and converted models and textures for one or the other version of Silent Hunter.
The pict I'll show here come from SH4 but it's the SH3 Von Dos model that have been adapted for SH4. So I guess the render will be the same on SH3.

Here we are. So glad to start this new adventure with our famous 3D artist Von Dos, who give to our SH so much new fun. Thank to him
Thank you so much for your kind words and for this collaboration idea, flush deck, i'm glad too, and ready!

And thanks for those amazing textures!
First time i've tested them, this was my face:
So thrilled! I struggle to recognize my own ships, so well dressed.

Re-conversion from SH4 to SH3, as you stated, is extremely easy. I've made a test with Cesare and Duilio, converted into multiskin versions in order to act as Cavour and Doria also. With some little UVmap fix for adjust some details, voilà some results! (note, guns still original at moment, i use a different\updated version of them):

As said, WOW. In my opinion, those "dresses" really enhance my simple models!

Best regards,
Vd

PS at moment every unit will be released as AI.
Everyone, sure including itadriver, will be free to convert them as playable!
Rules for this are always the same: 1) ask permission 2) give credit 3) always freeware!

PPS A great thank you to Borgneface, who allowed this modder's meeting!

@itadriver, I've played about with the ships in SH4 trying to get certain ones human playable, I copied the structure from drivable ships but I'm missing something as none of them ever work lol.
I realise there is more work involved than just doing what I was doing.

Hi VonDos and fellows

That's look great on SH3, glad to see that the conversion work perfectly

Some news on the Scheer. I finaly find a way to work on those new 3D models
That's another way to update the render of the skin, as the details are in 3D, but it's pretty fun to make.

I ve also reworked the Arado and give it the right registration.

Stay tuned
