Love them or loathe them, our local hunt (the South Wold) stopped at the end of our road over the weekend. They come out in the Autumn for pre-season practice

Truth be told, most folk who ride with hunts are farmers and other country-working types... the idea that they are a select bunch of gentry is mostly untrue nowadays

Out on the fields shown in my photo we often see fallow deer gathering. Arriving home the other day I looked hard at one of them as it seemed so different from the others... even at such a distance. With its short legs it looked more like a large dog
Then yesterday my neighbour asked "Have you seen the pig?" It seems that a young wild boar has fallen into company with the deer and goes with them to forage in the local maize fields... we never had maize here until the last couple of years and this year it's been left unharvested for some reason... maybe too wet If I get a chance I'll take a picture

You're going to post a picture of the local maize fields Mr Squirrel? dear me, it must be a slow news day around your part of 'Bollock-Acher Wood'.
You should pay us another visit to "Fookhall Copse" old boy, the squirrel renegades are getting restless again and my squirrel senses tell me there'll be weasel and stoat pie on the menu very soon.

No, no, no, no drinking in Fookhall Copse allowed Mr Squirrel, it was concussion, as you know turf wars can get nasty.

Local Birdlife.
A lot of birds hang around my place.
Rainbow Lorrikeets. Very friendly, but will attack and beat up BIG Cockatoos and steal their bread Some "Cockies" down on the pooldeck. The birds ( human ) on the groundfloor leave food and water out for them. Nice girls, attractive too The Lorrikeets have left, so it's safe for the Cockatoos to say hello.
