Lately when playing sh3 the CD spins forever, and will not load. after many attempts of in and out, it finally will load. Thought there was a problem and bought another copy of sh3 with the same results. Now today I buy sh4 and behold the same problem. other ubi disc play with no problem. Guess it maybe the underwater that does something. Any help will be appreciated.

2 GB DDR RAM
nvidia 6800GT 256mb agp8x
Maxtor 7200RPM HDD 45 GB partition ~ 30 GB Free

Software:
Windows XP SP2 up-to-date

I'm above the required specs so I know that's not the issue...

I just did a reformat so maybe I had some weird leftover drivers or something. I'll try reinstalling tonight or this weekend and report back if no one else has any suggestions

That, my friend, is SecuROM working it's magic and asserting it's dominance over your puny DVD drive

or you need to spend 25 - 35 bucks on a new DVD (R/RW) drive

Ok well my post was moved but its all messed up in here..

I CANNOT INSTALL THE PATCH GUYS!! Please someone help..

I double click the icon and it gives me an error with three options..

Detail,report and ok

I forget the error code but in the details page it give a .dll issue..

I rebooted the computer and all, nothing!!

WTF!!?!?!

Just got a copy of SH4 and installed it....and, as if it was too beautiful otherwise....IT DOESN'T WORK!

Instead of starting the game, SH4.exe gives me an error-message "d3dx9_32.dll not found"

DirectX 9.0c is already on my system and even IF I try to install it from SH4.exe it tells me that there is not enough space available, which is complete b*llsh*t because I have around 30 GB free on the target drive.

Delete the original download of the patch. Make sure you have the correct patch. I see one that says German and another that just says patch. The English version was I believe 116MB. Perhaps you have the wrong patch.

google for d3dx9_32.dll, once found place it in c:\windows\system directory

some people are going to say no with the 512MB memory....
BUT..... I have a "old" Vaio running

512 GB Memory

and I can run it fine..... ON LOW SETTINGS!!!!

Im going to 1 GB mem today... in harbor there is a small slow down...
But for those who say it CANT run with 512 mem

Hi, I just saw a NVIDIA 6200 OC at Best Buy that was PCI. The reason I remember it is that it seemed to support up to pixel shador 3.0......but I'll leave it to the experts as to if it would work with SHIV.

I have the 6200 OC. Not fast enough. It is hooked to AMD 3200+ and 1 gig. I can play with everything on low. Get a better card bro.

Me Too, Any Ideas? Also, some times the view own ship "." gives a wonky sideways view. The whole creen is tillted sideways and not centered on any ship.

Ok, that Startup-Problem has self-solved somehow.

Now I notice another funny thing ingame: the performance.

My System is:
3500 Athlon 64
2 Gigs of RAM
Radeon X1950 Pro

One should think that this system is capable of something. And on graphics preset "high" (with that filter turned off) it normally works fine......for about 5 Minutes....

Then the game has short lags every half second or something like this.....my mouse and vision moves slow and the game is playable but not really enjoyable. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I have a:
P4 2.4ghz
1.5 G ram
GeForce 6600 GT AGP card with 128m DDR2 memory.

I have the card settings to optimize perfomance and the game settings to low, low rez, no high textures checked. I get sporadic frame rates from 14 to 40 in most views, but the trying to look at the map table and the navigator brings it to 2 fps. It even slows keyboard response.

I have notice that the fps drop doesn't occur in an S boat and the Gato is about 20 fps, but others boats just about stop it. I found the game graphics settings to medium doesn't hurt the fps much.

I also see the game stutter at times.

I didn't install gameshadow.

I've updated the drivers and the usual tips were done.

Look for the thread on ATI and overclock issues. It is current.

No, I have the 116mb patch. It just gives me the same error..

I reinstalled the game at lunch and its still not installing the damn patch!
