Default IL2 Online?

Hi all

Just started giving IL2 1946 a blast. Where am I best looking to get some online action. Preferably without too much modding. I'm patched up to 4.08, and that's about it. I can take off and land, without too much bother , it's the shooty bit in between that gives me headaches .

I'm getting a little tired of the AI's ability to massacre me, and was hoping to find people online who are even more inept than me so that I might shoot them

Any help appreciated (particularly sitting ducks )

All the best, Andy

What you need is a good Human pilot as a wingman / team with you to keep those pesky AI off whilst you learn!
In which case I will provide you with the shameless plug that is www.iijg53.com - a coop squadron with worldwide membership! Drop by and check us out if you fancy having a bunch of friendlies to back you up!

Flew with Misner (a member of JG53) yesterday. A very good pilot. He knows how to handle a 109.

Essential phrases for the Subsim pilot:

"Where the hell did he come from?"
"Goddamn kill-stealing AI!"
"Nicht Landen!"
" 'Insert subject here' are overrated."
"What did he say?" (to be used after any of Schroeders sentances)
"Smartarse." (see above)
"Bloody Italian Flak gunners!"
"My plane is upside down!" (to be used if you're Oberon and you have just landed.)
"What the hell is this heap of junk?!" (to be used if you are given the 109G2)
"I wannaaa ****er-Wuuullffff!!"

(When did the 190 become censored?! :S )

One moment, from my point of view (or hearing) this can be said after every sentence from someone else.
(yes, I know the problem is on my end but I can't do anything about it.)

109G6 it is. (proving another sentence from above right....)

Ask Dowly he knows more about that.

And you forgot my favorite:

"I don't see sh*t!! Where are the enemies?"

Thanks all

I've had a quick peek at the site you suggested, Valantine. Looks very good. I'll just get a little practice with the BF109G2, which I've not really used up 'til now, and then I'll sign up and treat you all to a display of absolute ineptitude . I may even demonstrate my favourite phrase - "My bloody joystick's pissing about again. No, wait...... I've lost a wing"

Cheers, andy
