can't update SB 1.2 to 1.4 - HELP!

I followed the download directions - keeps prompting me to "install the original SB CD" to update -- I can't because I only have the retail GOLD editon CD. Suggestions?

As far as I remember from my SB Gold days, the Gold edition does not need to get patched - it already is. Just one terrain map, I think needs to be added. but that flaw only becomes apparent when choosing that one special mission using it. And since there are already dozens of other missions...
