Huge rise of water spray lifted up on impact... I hope for in this game.
he he he, trying that too but still not sure what can be done to improve it.

Good enough for me, knowing that its being looked at... I guess they thought we wouldn't notice if they added a bunch of fireworks to the explosions....

Concerning AilSmoke 1.7
-----------------------
Nice work, Ailantd, thank you! The smoke stream appears homogeneously, with less interrupts. But I dare to say that I don't like the "flying glowworm effect" near the flames, to me it looks rather like burning wood wool. So I installed the mod without the SmokeLoop01.dds (using stock file instead), now appreciating a completely satisfying appearance.

Concerning AilMoon 1.5
----------------------
One more time thank you, wonderful texture maps. One of the first mods I used with SH5.

As some people mentioned before, the lunar phases in the game are not correct. In reality, the sunlit side always points to the sun. That's why you see e. g. the Waxing crescent moon at afternoon and post-dusk, but not pre-dawn in the morning hours. Different in the game.

Therefore, I reworked the moon and halo texture files and replaced each single phase by it's counterpart. While fixing the illuminating bug, my rework introduced another error. Now the lunar phases develop in the wrong direction. Starting with New moon you'll see the Waning crescent followed by the Last quarter and so on during the synodic cycle.

Meanwhile, I think that there's no solution, due to limitations in the game design. Annoying, but after all, it's not a planetarium software...

Ail is not active here, I don't think he read anymore this thread.

For smoke, the best mod is HanSolo's funnel smoke. Regarding te moon, all those problems are solved in W_Clear's Enviro mod.

Thanks for the hint, Magnum. I'm already using HanSolo's manificent Funnel Smoke Mod, which deals with the particles_funnelsmoke.dat. But that's another story as it deals with the funnel smoke only and not with the smoke emitted by a damaged ship.

The Environment Mod tries to correct the moon light errors the same way I did - with the same results. As mentioned above, this method fixes the direction of the sunlit side of the moon, but it leads to another error, as now the lunar phases are cycling in the wrong direction.

Pity he isn't here. He made some of the best environment mods. I still use them.
