Default Extreme Depth

Just curious as I have not ran SH 3 in a long time but plan to return to ATO soon for a change after finished up with my project in SH 4.

Anyways, in SH 4 when take the deep diving fleetboats such as Balao or Tench below 600 feet, they have a difficult time maintaining depth especially without ridiculous amount of speed, even then quite unstable, that is until take flooding lol. Once pump water out, boats stabilize oddly enough. Happened other day, after pumped out little bit of water, stabilized boat at 740 feet or so.

Wondering if this is an issue in SH 3 as well? Given that they are quite similar.

Ahoy, Bubblehead1980...

As I understand it all.. the whole concept, behind SH4 is.. that it is built on the bones of SH3.. to put it, as simply as I can. There are some tweaks & such that do offer improvements off the base SH3 aspect. So, given that nature of the beast.... as it were, am pretty sure that it's a distinct factor of it occurring in SH3, as well.

It's not as marked in Sh3. It should be, but it isn't. Some mods require slight motion (2 kts i.e.), others don't.
But even when motion in required, there is no water leaking into the boats that pumps can't keep up with etc. at depth ala AOD, so a SH3 boat can stay very deep as long as it wants with no consequences other than the usual air/battery issues.
