I'd say it's not a VIIC with a VIIA stern tube, but type WIP. :p

Something like the video Dowly post the link to
The eject sequence in sh4 relies on the torpedo tube being submerged, so as soon as it leaves the tube it drops to it's intended run depth, through the hull... I'm still working on a workaround for that.
@Mikhayl, yes, it is derivated from the VIIC I built, but as Dowly said it's a wip, I still need to rework the deck and the conning tower.

Hey, give him credit for the solo rudder as well as the VIIA stern tube.

More importantly, the whole thing looks fantastic in SH4. But why the VIIA at all?

U-32 type VIIA sank the largest ship ever sunk by a German U Boot ( without counting the mine loss of the HMHS Britannic in 1916 (Empress of Britain 43000 tons)
U-29 type VIIA sank the carrier HMS Courageous
U-30 typ VIIA sank the first ship of the war (SS Athenia 14000 tons)

In fact, between them, the VIIA boats combined...
  • Sank 107 merchant ships, totalling 462,818 GRT
  • Damaged 2 merchants beyond repair for 13,247 GRT
  • Captured 3 merchants worth 6,574 tonnes
  • Sank 4 warships, totalling 24,865 tonnes
  • Sank 4 Auxiliary warships, for 4,928 GRT
  • Damaged 8 merchants for 53,997 tonnes
  • Damaged 3 warships for 73,050 tonnes
Of the warships damaged, victims included HMS Nelson (mined by U-31), HMS Barham (torpedoed by U-30) and HMS Fiji (torpedoed by U-32).

More significant is the sinking of HMS Courageous (a fleet carrier) by U-29. Following this incident, the Royal Navy withdrew its fleet carriers from anti-submarine patrol... a strategic mistake that was not reversed until some time later. This action alone makes the VIIA a significant player in the Battle of the Atlantic in assisting the ascent of the U-Waffe.

From thise thread

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=124253

And remember

Quote:
It is certainly true that there were only a few made. From what I could find, there were 10 built in total... all of which were put into combat service. Still, 10 boats in combat service is certainly more significant that some other types.
  • Only 6 Type-IIA (U-1 to U-6, incl.)
  • Only 8 Type-IIC (U-56 to U-63, incl.)
  • Only 8 Type-IX (as in IXA, not type IX boats in general, U-37 to U-44, incl.)
  • Only 2 Type-IXD1 (U-180 and U-195)
  • Only 6 Type-VIID (U-213 to U-218. incl.)
  • Only 4 Type-VIIF (U-1059 to U-1062, incl.)
  • Only 7 U-Flak (U-441, U-256, U-621, U-953, U-211, U-263 and U-271)
  • Only 8 XB (U-116, U-117, U-118, U-119, U-219, U-220, U-233, and U-234)
Furthermore, although there were a lot more commissioned, there were only 6 Type-XXIII boats that actually sailed on combat patrols.

Now the types above that I have written in Bold Green are implemented in SH3 or in already existing mods. So, given that the VIIA was used in greater numbers than all of these, why not consider it for implementing
