I love this series. I only played GNB 2, Solomons campaign . I could never win as the Japanese, but I had some great wins as the US.

I loved the old Microprose games. I managed to save them almost all the ones I purchased and I still play them from time to time on my Amiga emulator.

There is something to be said for great gameplay. They graphics are rather basic by todays standards, but you really got hooked on the playability.

I with they made game like that still. It is all eye candy now

I definately had that game, I used to love racing games but haven't really found anything that excites me recently.

I'll always remember Microprose for bringing out so many good games. Especially with sims, great brand. I can remember how the Microprose was written when the games started up, good times.

I'd love to try the other GNB. The one with the Bismarck would be nice to try.

I had Silent Service, Gunship, Pirates!, F-19 Stealth Fighter, Red Storm Rising, Airborne Ranger, F-15 and probably a couple more I forgot about on the C64. I played the hell outta all of them.

I loved F-15! The triangle jets! :rotfl: Still, pretty cool for its time.

TF1942, Pacific Air War, European Air War, B17 I & II, Silent Service I & II, Gunship & Gunship 2000, Pirates!, F-19 Stealth Fighter, Red Storm Rising, Airborne Ranger, F-15 Strike Eagle I & II and I'm sure a few more I'm forget'n. Those were the days!

As Torplexed was point'n out the night battles were awsome in TF1942. The campain and mission generator made the game. I'd love to see a modern version of TF1942. Maybe use the SHIV engine? :hmm: Or if someone could make a mission editor or random generator for Battlestations Midway. I'm not sure why Eidos didn't do that...it really limits the replay value of the game.

D'oh, I'm pretty sure I never played TF1942. Are there anymore screen shots of it? It sounds like it was pretty close to Great Naval Battles 2.

Did anyone ever play Darklands an RPG by Microprose. I still play it now.

It is set in 15th century Germany.

This is a good page for the game:

http://www.darklands.net/dl_main.html

Yahoo groups has a Darklands group here:
