Default Run Sub Command without requiring the CD in the CD Drive

I learnt from http://forums.navalwarfare.org/showthread.php?t=30

Quote:
How can you play FC without requiring the CD in the CD drive?

Required FULL install. 1. Copy the WORLD folders from the CD to your FC root directory. 2. Copy SETUP.EXE from the CD to your FC root directory. 3. Edit the registry entry for FC. Change the CDINSTALL value to your FC root directory. Note that this technique will increase the disk space needed by FC by approx. 156 Mb.
It works admirably.

But when I applied the same technique to Sub Command, it fails. Anyone knows how make that happen ?

All you need to do is a full install and apply the latest patch. Once done it should work without the CD in the drive.

The 1.05 patch removed the need for the CD to be in the drive, with that or any later one (1.07 or 1.08) you don't need the CD.
